Today's Games
Women - England 2 USA 12.
The English women were comprehensively defeated by the unbeaten USA team, but they still managed to finish in third equal place. They will play against Italy in a tie-breaker tomorrow morning to determine the third placed team to play in the play-offs, also played tomorrow, for the semi-final games.

Men - Scotland 7 Ireland 4, Hungary 3 England 6, England 6 Denmark 7.
Scotland scored a 4 against the Irish in the second end, which proved enough for the Scots to take second spot behind Canada in their group and qualify for the quarter-finals tomorrow night. Ireland are still in the competition though and have a tie-breaker against Czech Republic to decide third place in the group. England played their hearts out on St George's Day, but the extra end defeat to unbeaten Denmark allowed Sweden to pip them for a qualifying place.

Today's games
Unfortunately, the English women were beaten 3-6 by Italy to end their tournament, but considering the Italians are in tomorrow's Semi-finals, the English women have competed very well.

The Irish men fared better in their opening game, beating Czech Republic 7-6, and then defeating Australia in the final qualifying game by 7-6 after scoring a 3 in the last end. But again, neither home country progressed any further than the Quarter-finals, Ireland losing 3-6 to USA and Scotland losing 4-5 to Denmark.

Tomorrow's Semi-finals
Women - Sweden v Canada, USA v Italy.
Men - Denmark v Canada, New Zealand v USA.
The Medal games will be held in the afternoon.

Semi-final Results
Men - Denmark 3 Canada 5, New Zealand 4 USA 9.
Women - Italy 7 USA 6, Sweden 2 Canada 11.

Medal games
Men - Canada 4 USA 9,New Zealand 6 Denmark 4.
After 5 uninspiring ends from Canada they livened up with a 3 to give themselves half a chance, they promptly lost a 3 to hand USA the win with an end to play.
Three was the magic number in the Bronze game as well, with New Zealand scoring 3 in the sixth end to give themselves sufficient leeway for the win.
Women - Italy 2 Canada 6, USA 6 Sweden 4.
Canada's greater experience won the day in a tight game which they controlled from the start and won with a last end concession from the Italians.
In another closely fought game, USA held the lead all the way through against Sweden, eventually restricting the Swedes to a single shot in the last end.

Final standings - Men
GOLD USA
SILVER Canada
BRONZE New Zealand

Final standings - Women
GOLD Canada
SILVER Italy (their first ever medal)
BRONZE USA
