Sadly when you sell the best assist provider in the division then we probably need to spend over £3m to replace him.
The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy.

but we could have brought in 2 other cheaper players to make up the assists, whether that was on loan until we had the funds or permanent. McGugan and Drentthe were a start but we didn't tie them down for long enough and then let Drentthe slip away.

Whilst that is true, letting Antonio leave was gross mismanagement IMO.

Everything SG does is gross mismanagement  Angry I had us down for 23rd this season  Doh and I'm damn sure if we hadn't got off to a good start, by surprising teams who expected us to be total crap, and the existence of Blackpool and Millwall, that's where we would be  Angry

The Torygraph has an article about the fiercest rivalries in English football.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/footbal...me=3090046

They rate our cross city rivalry as 3rd behind the Tyne-Tees and the most fierce South Wales.

"The world's oldest football rivalry ... a deep well of resentment still exists, contributing to an electric atmosphere across the entire city for the whole week."
