Just finished reading `Budgie: The Autobiography of Goalkeeing legend John Burridge`

Budgie amongst his numerous clubs turned out for Blackpool, Aston Villa, Crystal Palace, QPR, Wolves, Southampton, Hibernian and Newcastle United
Totally mad as a hatter but in the best sense of the word

This was a great read of a player who truly loved the game, his love of a big wage gets in the way a bit much and both Terry Mcdermott and Ossie Ardiles get a good slagging off, he has lots of praise for Kevin Keegan and Terry Venables and there are some good laughs along the way also. Some interesting tales about how Budgie got UK goalkeepers to start wearing gloves and that he was the innovator of the long pre-game warm up in the UK.

Last time I remember he was turning out for clubs aged 47 and still outperforming his juniors, some of his exploits out in the middle East where he is now are eye opening also.

Do have a read if you get chance
