Buxton went pretty much without injuries until MM got rid of the Injury Prevention Team. Since they went, he has missed more games than he has played. While Gardner was a risk, we have had other players with no injury record that have had injuries galore - Antonio, Lee, Reda etc.
Another factor is that it has seemed to be the Manager's decision as to when a player is fit. Three times last season (once under DJ & twice under SG), Antonio was rushed back to play when he wasn't fit. His other half even tweeted before the Blackpool match at S6 that he shouldn't be playing before the match. Surely that cannot be right.
It does seem that there is less rush to get unfit players playing this season with Lee & Hutch being allowed time to recover although again it appears that Lee had an injury & played , making it worse.

I think there is something we aren't being told regarding the Hutchinson injury. Something has happened since the original injury. He was 50/50 to play against Forest two weeks ago; now SG says he is some weeks away.

Remind me, what is Hutchinson's injury anyway??
I think some of this is DJs fault, he came to the club with an arrogance that made him think he was bigger than the club. He got us promoted and nothing stopped him thinking that way. As a consequence, he was over ruling everyone at the club and everything was done his way only. This meant he was making decisions regarding players health and fitness as opposed to the medical staff. SG picked up on some of these traits but seems to be more prepared to learn and adapt than DJ was.

It's his back. I suppose we have to be really careful and nurse him back gradually

He injured himself chasing a lost cause when it would have been more sensible to just stick to his position.

Hutchinson has got to realise that his body is fragile & like that of a 35 year old. He has to learn how to make it last & then he can still do a good job. Chasing lost causes like a headless chicken does no-one any good.
