WBA vs Stoke & Middlesbrough - Match Thread

Another week goes by with the manager's chair vacant, though if rumour is to be believed, this'll be the last weekend of limbo: Tony Mowbray is expected to be in the stands for tomorrow's fixture against Stoke, and provided there are no further hiccups, come Tuesday's visit to Middlesbrough it'll be as if the last sixteen years never happened.

So, what can Tony expect to treated to on the morrow? Albion seem to have regained some solidity at home over the last month, winning three on the bounce at the Hawthorns; our best record in almost a year. Meanwhile, Stoke under Mark Robins are unbeaten in three as they aim to put a bit more distance between themselves and the relegation zone; with by far the tightest defence in the bottom third of the table, it wouldn't surprise me in the least if they aim for the 0-0 draw and take anything else they can get. The loss of Josh Maja is an enormous blow for the Baggies, somewhat increasing the chances of an afternoon of frustration, but we still have to regard this as a winnable match and proceed accordingly.

Tuesday night will bring whatever it brings, and there's no knowing what that'll be. But three points this week, one way or another, would be a good solid way for Brunty to hand over the reins.

If this is a team trying to impress the new manager then they’re failing miserably!!!!
An hour in and not a single effort on target against a team who are 19th in the league.
TM has really got his work cut out with this shower.

Not watching so this is based solely on the BBC text reporting, but it seems like we're giving it a good go in the 2nd half, even though it's 2-0?

We did for 15-20 minutes then went back to pass, pass, pass, with no purpose.

The BBC text reporting flatters us. Quite simply we are not good enough. No cutting edge, don’t look like scoring, too many passes not finding the target, generally really poor.
Desperately in need of a change. Yes Bartley and Maja are a massive miss but the rest of the squad needs to step up and not step down. Still hoping mogga will get us on track, but think it’ll be a difficult task to achieve anything this season.

Mogga saw what our problemd are. Far too many players who have forgotten how to score goals. New faces required. Grady, Swift, Wallace have all been treading water for a long time now. Get rid of them. Big money earners who don't score goals. Which one of them is busting a gut to get in the box when Johnson or Fellows are crossing the ball None of them. Some ruthless decisions are required. Come on Mogga let's swing that axe.
