The state pension is a joke and they keep raising the age not because people are living longer but in the hope that you die before you get to claim it. Mine's been raised to 67 from 65. That equates to a saving of £600,000 + 2 years extra tax and NI contributions from my school class of 30 who started work at the same time. Multiply that by 3 for the other classes in my year and then multiply again by the number of classes throughout the country.

Now tell me it's for my own good and I'd be bored living all those extra years not working
