Club captain Shaun Hutchinson is set to leave Millwall after eight years with the club.

Hutchinson joined Millwall from Fulham in 2016 and has gone on to make 257 appearances for the Lions.

The defender, 33, also scored 14 goals and was part of the team that won promotion to the Championship in 2017.

Goalkeeper Bartosz Bialkowski is also leaving after five seasons in south east London.

Newcastle-upon-Tyne born Hutchinson suffered an injury-hit last season at The Den in which he managed only 15 games.

His last goal came on New Year's Day against Bristol City, which was also the last match he started.

Kamarl Grant, Tom Leahy, Chinwike Okoli, Kyle Smith and Sha’mar Lawson have all been offered new contracts to stay with Millwall.

Long-serving Millwall defender Ryan Leonard has signed a contract extension to stay at the club.

The 32-year-old - who initially joined the club on loan six years ago from Sheffield United - has made 165 appearances for the Lions.

He made his move to The Den permanent in January 2019 and played 35 times in the Championship last season.

The right-back, who can also play in central defence and midfield, has scored five goals for the club.

Millwall have not disclosed the length of Leonard's new deal.

Championship side Millwall have signed prolific striker Macaulay Langstaff from Notts County for an undisclosed fee.

The 27-year-old scored 71 goals in 96 appearances for the Magpies, including 42 in 47 matches in their National League promotion-winning campaign in 2022-23.

Langstaff has been the division's top scorer in each of his past three seasons with Notts and previous club Gateshead, winning the League Two golden boot with 28 goals last term in his first ever English Football League campaign.

He becomes the first summer signing at The Den after penning a "long-term" contract,, external although the Lions have not disclosed the length of the deal.

"When you see the facilities at Millwall, it makes me work even harder because I know where I came from and where I want to get to, so I want to put 110% effort in every single day," he told the club website., external

Langstaff set a National League scoring record and earned the nickname the 'non-league Haaland' as Notts won promotion back to the EFL via the play-offs two seasons ago.

His total of 42 also set a new goals record for a Notts player in a single season.

He began his career at Gateshead and moved back there in 2020 after two years with York, scoring 31 goals in 53 league appearances in his second spell with the Heed to earn a switch to Meadow Lane.

In May, he told BBC East Midlands Today his ambition was to help fire the Magpies up to League One, having three years remaining on his contract, and said it would take "something incredible" for him to leave the club.

Millwall have re-signed club captain Shaun Hutchinson on a one-year deal after he was released by the Championship club earlier this summer.

The 33-year-old centre-back initially joined the Lions on a free transfer from Fulham in 2016 and during his time with the club helped them win promotion to the Championship.

He played 257 games and scored 14 goals for the club prior to his release at the end of last season.

Hutchinson made just 15 appearances during an injury-hit 2023-24 campaign.

Millwall have signed goalkeeper Liam Roberts on a free transfer from Middlesbrough.

The 29-year-old spent last season on loan at Barnsley, where he made 40 appearances as the Tykes reached the League One play-off semi-finals.

Roberts becomes head coach Neil Harris's fifth signing of the summer.

The London club is recovering from the loss of last season's first-choice goalkeeper Matija Sarkic, who died at his apartment in Budva in Montenegro in June.

Veteran goalkeeper Bartosz Bialkowski, 37, left the club at the end of his contract after five seasons at The Den, having signed permanently in 2020 after an initial loan from Ipswich.

Roberts has flown out to join Millwall on their preseason tour in Spain. The length of his contract has not been specified., external

"I think it's the right move for me because it's such a massive club," Roberts told Millwall's website.

"I spoke to Duncan Watmore [who played with Roberts during the 2022-23 season at Middlesbrough] before coming in and he said, 'You'll love it. As soon as you walk through the door you'll get that feeling of family and that feeling of the lads wanting it together.'

"He wasn't wrong at all."

Roberts came through the Walsall academy before moving to Northampton Town in 2021. He signed for Boro the following year.

Millwall begin the new Championship season at home to Watford on Saturday, 10 August.

Millwall midfielder Alfie Massey has signed a new "long-term" contract with the Championship club.

The 18-year-old made his professional debut in the Lions' 1-0 win away at Portsmouth in the Carabao Cup first round on Tuesday.

He was replaced by George Saville after 65 minutes with Millwall leading.

"Alfie has shown his qualities as a person - his training standards are immaculate," Millwall boss Neil Harris told the club's website., external

"They're top drawer and that is something I expect from young players at this club. He is a really good player and has huge potential."

Massey was an unused substitute in Millwall's opening-day 3-2 defeat at home to Watford in the Championship.

Millwall have signed forward Femi Azeez from Reading for an undisclosed fee.

The 23-year-old scored 11 goals in 89 games for the Royals after joining the club from Wealdstone in 2019.

Azeez, who can play as a winger or a striker, becomes Neil Harris's sixth summer recruit after signing a "long-term" deal.

"He's quick, dynamic, he takes players on, gets crosses into the box and loves to score a goal," Millwall's director of football Steve Gallen told the club's website, external.

"He's played in a good, young Reading side and is the exact type of signing we want to bring into the football club."

Millwall have no points from their first two Championship games, having lost 3-2 to Watford and 4-3 at Bristol City.

Milllwall have signed Celtic midfielder Daniel Kelly for an undisclosed fee.

The 18-year-old Scot made six first-team appearances last season for Celtic. Millwall say he has signed a long-term contract at The Den.

"Daniel is a player that has been on the club’s radar for some time and highlighted to me upon my arrival," said Steve Gallen, the Lions' director of football.

"He’s exactly the type of profile we want to bring in. He’s a young box-to-box midfielder, athletic, dynamic and I feel he has a bright future and can add real quality to the squad."

The signing was not registered soon enough for Kelly to be a part of the squad for this weekend's game against Hull.

Millwall have signed midfielder Ryan Wintle on a season-long loan from Cardiff City.

The 27-year-old has made 117 appearances for the Bluebirds, scoring five goals.

Wintle becomes Millwall's eighth signing of the summer.

"We're really pleased to welcome Ryan to the club," Steve Gallen, the Lions' director of football, told the club's website., external

"His qualities and leadership both on and off the pitch only strengthens our midfield.

"He likes to get on the ball and make things happen, and having made over 100 appearances for Cardiff City - as well as at Crewe Alexandra - Ryan arrives with great experience and knows what it takes to compete at this level."

Wintle began his career at Crewe, scoring 11 goals in 186 games before moving to Cardiff in 2021.

He spent his first six months at the Welsh club on loan at Blackpool, playing 18 times in the Championship.

Millwall, who are without a win in the league, face Sheffield Wednesday at The Den on Saturday.

Millwall have signed striker Josh Coburn on a season-long loan deal from fellow Championship side Middlesbrough.

The 21-year-old started Boro's 5-0 EFL Cup thrashing at the hands of Stoke City in midweek but has been limited to five minutes as a substitute in the league so far this season.

He has scored 10 goals for Boro since making his debut in 2021 and also scored 10 times during a loan spell with Bristol Rovers in League One.

Director of football Steve Gallen said, external: "He's a target man who holds the ball up, runs the channels well and is a good in the air, as well as being a strong boy.

"He has a very high ceiling and I'm pleased he is now a Millwall player for the season."
