Northampton Town have signed Ross County captain Jack Baldwin for an undisclosed fee.
The former Hartlepool, Peterborough, Sunderland and Bristol Rovers defender has agreed a two-year deal at Sixfields.
He made 102 appearances in three seasons with County and helped them retain their Scottish Premiership status in May with a play-off victory over Raith Rovers.
"Jack is a real leader, an organiser and someone we are delighted to welcome to the club," said Northampton boss Jon Brady.
"He is a brave defender, someone who wins his fair share of tackles and blocks, but he can play too."
Northampton have now made five signings since their 10th-place table finish in League One last term.
They will start the new campaign with an away game against one of Baldwin's former clubs, Bristol Rovers, on 10 August.

Northampton Town have signed Tom Eaves from fellow League One side Rotherham United.
The 32-year-old 6ft 5in former Oldham Athletic, Bolton Wanderers, Yeovil Town, Gillingham and Hull City striker Tom Eaves has penned an initial two-year deal.
Eaves, who still had a year to run on his existing contract, has become Northampton Town’s sixth summer signing to follow striker James Wilson and goalkeeper Nik Tzanev, Salford striker Callum Morton, Colchester midfielder Cameron McGeehan and Ross County defender Jack Baldwin.
Eaves has scored 88 goals in a 406-game career that also took in loan spells at Shrewsbury Town (twice) and Bury, including six last season for the relegated Millers.
“Tom is a quality addition to the squad,” said Cobblers boss Jon Brady, external.
“He has a physical presence about him. We believe he will blend and balance well with the other strikers.
“He isn’t just all about being a physical presence though. He is very mobile and he is capable of skilful finishes as his record shows.
"He has a good goal to games record. And he finished last season strongly in the Championship, scoring twice on the final day of the season."

The 20-year-old has yet to play for the Premier League club's senior side, but made two starts for their under-21s in last season's EFL Trophy.
His arrival at Sixfields follows those of Tom Eames, Jack Baldwin, Callum Morton, Nik Tzanev and James Wilson.
"Matt is good on the ball and he has a good engine, he is an athletic player who is mobile and who can get about the pitch but can also handle the physical side of the game," said, external Cobblers boss Jon Brady.

League One side Northampton Town have signed Liam McCarron from Stoke City for an undisclosed fee.
The 23-year-old winger has joined on a one-year deal with an optional further year after impressing on trial.
"Liam has done well on trial with us over the last couple of weeks," said Town manager Jon Brady.
"He has been training with us for a while now, so we know he will fit in well with the group and we have been pleased with what we have seen."
McCarron joined Leeds United after one senior season at first club Carlisle United in 2019, making his only first-team appearance as a substitute in a 4-1 Premier League defeat by Arsenal in December 2021, having signed a new two-year contract.
The former Scotland Under-19 international moved to Stoke in June 2022 but was loaned to Port Vale for the 2022-23 season after Michael O'Neill's departure as Potters boss, making two appearances in League One.
His only senior outing last season was a 16-minute substitute appearance in Stoke's FA Cup third-round defeat to Brighton & Hove Albion, although McCarron played 11 times in Premier League 2, producing one goal and three assists.
"He is strong and he travels well with the ball," said Brady. "He can play in both attacking and defensive positions all down the left hand side and inverted on the right-hand side, offering flexibility in formations and systems.
"He has speed and the ability to break the back line in attack. Liam has a good pedigree, he has some big clubs on his CV but he is at the stage where he needs to start adding appearances to that CV.
"He is motivated to do that here and we feel we can help improve and develop his game.
“There was other interest in him and we are pleased he has chosen to join us.”
Northampton visit Cheltenham Town for a pre-season friendly on Saturday before travelling to Bristol Rovers for their first league match a week later.

Northampton Town have signed former Oxford and Brentford winger Tariqe Fosu on a one-year contract.
The 28-year-old moved to Brentford for £750,000 in 2020 and played in two Championship play-off finals but has been without a club for over a year.
He spent last season on trial in the MLS in the United States and training with former club Charlton Athletic.
"Tariqe has a lot of ability and quality and we are really pleased to welcome him to Sixfields," said, external Northampton manager Jon Brady.
"He has pace and is very good on the ball and has the ability to play in a number of positions across the pitch.
"He has played a lot of his football at Championship level and his pedigree speaks for itself.
"Tariqe is a creative, attacking player and we think he is someone who can help take us forward and as such we are sure all supporters will join us in welcoming him to the club."

Northampton Town have signed midfielder Samy Chouchane on loan from Brighton & Hove Albion for the remainder of the season.
The Tunisia Under-20 international, who will turn 21 next month, has yet to play for the Premier League club's senior side but has made seven appearances in the EFL Trophy.
It is Chouchane's first loan move and he is Northampton's 11th signing of the summer transfer window.
"He has risen through the levels at Brighton to be involved with the first-team squad and we have been impressed with his attitude, his ability and his progression," said Cobblers manager Jon Brady.
Meanwhile, Callum Morton was delighted to finally break his duck at Sixfields after scoring the first goal of his second loan spell with Northampton Town against Exeter City on Saturday.
Morton found the net eight times in 12 appearances in all competitions for the Cobblers as they won promotion in 2020 - all of them coming in away games.
But his 65th-minute equaliser through the keeper's legs set them on the way to a come-from-behind 2-1 home win in League One.
"I was thinking to myself that it didn't have enough on it, but thankfully it went in and I've got off the mark at this stadium as well," the 24-year-old told BBC Radio Northampton.
The season-long deal between Northampton and parent club Salford City is Morton's seventh loan spell in a career which began at West Bromwich Albion - and he is hoping it will enable him to regain his best form.
"When you come into somewhere and you've got a reputation, the fans are going to get behind you no matter what and give you the chance to show what you can do again," he said.
"The last few years have been hit and miss and coming back somewhere where I've enjoyed myself (in the past), hopefully I'll continue that.
"Must be something about playing Exeter as well. I'm from down that neck of the woods as well [Torquay], but I'm just happy to be on the scoresheet and get three points."
Morton, who also scored against Exeter in Northampton's 4-0 League Two play-off final win at Wembley in June 2020, suffered a nasty-looking cut on his head during a first-half challenge and needed running repairs at the interval after a temporary dressing proved ineffective.
"I think I knew I wasn't going to win the ball but when I put the defender in that position I knew I could win a free-kick and that's what I wanted to do no matter how much it may hurt me, you've got to do that for the team," he said.
"I didn't realise it was bleeding as much as it was until I looked at my fingers and I was covered in my blood. I've had a few of them in the last couple of years."

Northampton Town have signed Wales international Tyler Roberts on a season-long loan from Birmingham City.
The 25-year-old forward made 19 appearances for Blues as they were relegated to League One last season and has played twice for the club this season.
Roberts began his career at West Bromwich Albion, where he spent time on loan at Oxford United, Shrewsbury Town and Walsall, before moving to Leeds United in January 2018.
Roberts, who has 20 caps for Wales, played 108 games and scored nine goals for the Whites and was part of Marcelo Bielsa's squad that won promotion to the Premier League in 2019-20.
After spending the 2022-23 season on loan at Queens Park Rangers, he joined Birmingham last summer.
He becomes the Cobblers' 12th summer signing.

Northampton Town have signed former Derby County forward Martyn Waghorn and ex-Lincoln City centre-back TJ Eyoma on short-term contracts.
Waghorn, 34, left Pride Park after scoring seven goals to help Derby County win promotion back to the Championship last season.
Eyoma, 24, was released by the Imps after making 33 appearances in the 2023-24 campaign, 26 of them in League One, and scoring three goals.
"He has played in the Championship for most of his career and he will bring that knowledge and pedigree with him," boss Jon Brady said of Waghorn.
"The squad is stretched a little at the moment, both in terms of the number of players missing in forward positions and the busy schedule, and we feel Martyn can help us through this hectic period."
Waghorn's career began at Sunderland and his previous clubs also include Leicester City, Wigan Athletic, Glasgow Rangers, Ipswich Town and Coventry City.
Eyoma came through the youth set-up at Tottenham Hotspur and had two loan spells with Lincoln before joining them permanently in the summer of 2021.
Brady said: "Given the busy schedule of games we have over the next few months and the players we are missing, I felt we needed more help and depth in that particular area.
"He comes in fit and ready to go and we are pleased to welcome him to Sixfields."
Northampton host non-league Kettering Town on Saturday to be followed by an EFL Trophy game against Leicester City Under-21s on Tuesday.
They return to League One action on 9 November with an away game against leaders Birmingham City.
