They still a Premiership bank balance plus the promotion bonus and Premiership income for the coming year to look forward to. Double or maybe triple salary, I can only imagine what his transfer budget would be, plus the draw of the Premier League, I can see how that would be very attractive to someone without a blood and tears allegiance to a football club.

I know there is a shedload of speculation over CC moving to Leicester but I fear it will turn out to be true. In all truth, I couldn’t blame if he was to go; they’re a Premier League club and they will have money to spend from owners who have consistently been supportive. Contrast that with his experience at the Hawthorns under Lai, nothing short of miserable. It’s a real blessing we have a new owner who has done more in three months than Lai did in his whole tenure, but I suspect the damage done by Lai will take a fair while to recover and Patel won’t, and can’t, throw money at it.
My other concern, apart from losing an excellent coach, is the possible knock on effects with players out of contract (Mowatt and Kipre) and potential signings, such as Mickey Johnston. Will they see the loss of CC as reducing their interest to either stay with or join the club?

My biggest concern is that when Patel took over there was rumour about him wanting to bring in a European manager but because of performances on the pitch etc that got put on hold. Maybe it is a CC concern about not being fully invested in and he thinks his time is limited at West Brom.
I'd hope that these 2, by now, would've got together and talked about what they expected, and could give, each other.
I really get the impression that Patel is a decent chap, and he would have given CC the assurances he, in turn would have needed re security and budget.
Just a feeling tho, obviously!

Baggie Steve, you have made some good points here. Certainly with players out of contract, and new player links.
I hope Shilen and Cc have built a good relationship and can build something together with us.
Cc is being linked to Burnley and Leicester. On oddschecker Cc seems well down the odds for the Burnley job and therefore should be less of a worry.
However with Leicester I can see the appeal of the premier league, with bigger budgets, more qudos, despite their financial troubles. On oddschecker Steve Cooper seems odds on to go, but Cc is second favourite. So keep an eye on what Cooper says.
I hope Leicester take Cooper allowing us, Cc and Shilen to build together.

The biggest problem with the gossip about Carlos, Mowatt, Grady, Kipre is no denials from the club or the players.
The best piece of news is increased incoming funds from EFL and Sky next season could gain us £40 million. Every other club will get it, but we will be able to balance the books and not be forced into selling anymore.

As always the click bait morons are hard at work.
Latest, if believed, is that no approach has been made to CC and we are a steady ship planning to build our squad with CC at the helm for next season.
Let’s hope that is the case.

While £1m investment in training ground facilities is a good sign, I've read somewhere Stoke are spending £12m on there facilities.

I saw today that Nathan Ferguson has been released by Palace. 8 minutes of senior football in 4 years, or something like that. Sad outcome.

Totally agree, Vic. I’m sure there will Albion fans who will gloat at this outcome (not on this board I should quickly add) but I feel desperately sorry for the guy. Hopefully he can turn his career around with a few seasons injury free; if we were to sell Furlong - as some speculation suggests - should we consider bringing him back, assuming he’s now fit and healthy?
