Usual Hibs fare once again! I went away on holiday a week past Friday and Hibs won their first two games 5-0 and 5-1. I came back on Saturday and Hibs promptly lost 0-1 against Kelty Hearts!
Considering Hibs won the Scottish Cup when I was on holiday in Spain, perhaps I should go away on holiday more often. Donations in a plain brown envelope would be welcome.

After tonight's games, any 1 of 4 teams could top the Group. Hibs could even miss out altogether if they lose on Saturday. Beware of another poor performance.

If we lose on saturday the alarm bells will certainly be going off. Gray should know by now the squad is full of players who aren't good enough. If anything we are weaker now than last season.
Still waiting on our "root and branch review of footballing operations" Suspect its filed under b for bin.
Foleys comments to the press weren't missed either, a clear sign they are unhappy with how things are going at the club. I have to say i am as well.

A decisive 4-0 win for Hibs yeserday, resulting in a "glamour" tie at Celtic Park on 17 August. Slightly sobering is that they only headed Queens Park by 1 goal, both on 9 points, and Celtic have been impressive in their US friendlies.
The full second round draw is
Celtic v Hibernian
Dundee United v St Mirren
Aberdeen v Queen’s Park
Falkirk v Heart of Midlothian
Dundee v Airdrieonians
Motherwell v Kilmarnock
Rangers v St Johnstone
The Spartans v Ross County

Coming up on Sunday at 3pm is Celtic v Hibs at Celtic Park. Judging by last weekend's chastening defeat at Easter Road by the same opponents, the omens are not good. It was only a 2-goal defeat, but Hibs Nil tells the real story. Hibs were never in the hunt in the first half and even a better second half only confirmed Celtic's superiority.
I read somewhere that Hibs haven't beaten Celtic in a cup-tie in the past 20 years. Assuming that is true, I also assume that that statistic isn't going to change. Thankfully we haven't played them very often. Goals scored are going to be hard to come by and goals conceded will come along regularly.
I wonder if Kwon will be allowed to play against his parent club in this match - he is exactly the type of player we need to perform well in every game. Our attack could cause Celtic problems on a good day, but they must be up for the challenge. Our defence? Well, read just about every Hibee's posts in just about every game this year to see what's wrong.
A decent performance is all I can hope for, with some free weekends coming up soon.

I would think there will be the standard loan contract clause saying he cannot play against his parent club.
With the same midfield to choose from there will only be one outcome for this tie..........................mind you it is a "funny old game"

Certainly wont be judging the guys based on games with celtic, or expecting us to go through..... first half at the weekend showed they are by far the best team in scotland. We had no answer to their pace and movement and they should have scored more.
A good performance though might help the teams confidence as we haven't been playing well either. The odd 20 minutes in a game just is nowhere near enough. We need something to build on soon because football fans know what happens when you get stuck in a rut of bad results and it doesn't take long to get there but it can take time to get out of it.
Kwon won't be available but its an encouraging sign that we are bringing in a defensive midfielder.
Rumours around this morning saying we have had a bit accepted for mccowan too. I think if theres any teams style of play i'd like us to emulate its dundee , they play very good attacking football. I really rate Tony Docherty, think hes an excellent coach and would have been a solid choice for our manager.
