League One promotion hopefuls Derby County have signed winger Corey Blackett-Taylor on loan from Charlton for the rest of the season, ahead of a permanent transfer in the summer.

The Addicks have agreed a "sizable" loan fee for Blackett-Taylor, who has scored nine goals so far this term.

The club say they offered the 26-year-old several "attractive" offers of a new deal but they were turned down.

Blackett-Taylor is Derby's first new arrival of the January transfer window.

The club recently renewed the loan of striker Tyreece John-Jules from Arsenal until the end of the campaign.

Derby are currently third in the table, three points behind leaders Portsmouth, having lost only once in the league since October.

Derby County defender Eiran Cashin has signed a new deal with the club to run to the end of the 2026-27 season.

The Rams academy graduate was given his first-team debut in the Championship by former boss Wayne Rooney in 2021.

He has made 106 appearances, including 36 this season, and scored in Derby's 3-2 win at Oxford on 29 December.

Centre-back Cashin was the club's young player of the season in 2022-23 and is also a Republic of Ireland Under-21 international.

League One promotion hopefuls Derby County have signed striker Dwight Gayle after getting approval from the English Football League to complete the deal.

The 34-year-old was available as a free agent after leaving Championship side Stoke City earlier in February.

Derby are in need of a forward after leading scorer James Collins was ruled out "for months" with a knee injury.

Former Newcastle, West Brom and Crystal Palace striker Gayle has scored 124 league goals in 350 career games.

He has signed a deal until the end of the season.

Derby's transfer dealings and spending have been monitored by the EFL since the East Midlands club came out of administration in the summer of 2022.

Efforts to sign a striker during the January transfer window failed, with a move for Sheffield Wednesday's Lee Gregory collapsing on transfer deadline day.

Later that day, however, Derby sold Max Bird to Bristol City for an undisclosed fee, with the midfielder immediately loaned back to help the Rams in their quest for promotion back to the Championship.

Derby are second in League One and have won four of their past five matches.

Derby County captain Conor Hourihane is to leave Pride Park after leading the side to promotion back to the Championship.

The 33-year-old Republic of Ireland international scored six goals in 47 appearances as Derby finished second behind Portsmouth in League One.

Hourihane is reportedly a target of one of his former clubs, Barnsley,, external in a player-coach role, having skippered them to a promotion and EFL Trophy double in 2016.

Fellow midfielder Korey Smith, strikers Dwight Gayle and Martyn Waghorn, and goalkeepers Scott Loach and Joe Wildsmith will also leave Derby this summer.

Waghorn scored seven goals after being picked up as a free agent last summer for a second spell with Derby following his release by Coventry City, and Gayle netted three times in six appearances, having been released by Stoke City in February.

Talks are ongoing with top scorer James Collins - who contributed 14 league goals this season - and Louie Sibley about new deals.

Meanwhile, forward Tom Barkhuizen and defender Craig Forsyth have taken up clauses in their contracts to allow them to stay for a further 12 months, with the club activating a similar extension for midfielder Liam Thompson.

Derby County have brought in strikers Kayden Jackson and Jerry Yates.

Jackson, 30, has signed a two-year contract with the Rams following his recent release by Ipswich Town.

He has been joined at Pride Park by Yates, 27, who will spend the season on loan from Swansea City.

Jackson spent six seasons at Portman Road after spells with Tamworth, Wrexham, Barnsley and Accrington Stanley.

He scored 28 goals in 199 games spread over his six seasons with Ipswich, who went from League One to the Premier League during his time at the club.

Yates, 27, managed nine goals in 46 games for Swansea following a £2.5m move from Blackpool last summer.

He scored 46 goals across three seasons with the Seasiders to get his move to South Wales.

The pair will link up with fellow new arrival Ben Osborn, who was recently signed from Sheffield United.

Dutch midfielder Kenzo Goudmijn has joined Championship side Derby County on a four-year deal for an undisclosed fee from Eredivisie side AZ Alkmaar.

The 22-year-old rose though Alkmaar's youth ranks but only managed to make 13 league appearances for the club since making his senior debut in May 2019.

He has spent much of the past two campaigns with Dutch top-flight rivals Excelsior on loan, with his second stint at the club coming after playing a part in Alkmaar's Europa Conference League campaign at the start of last season.

Former Sheffield United and Nottingham Forest midfielder Ben Osborn was the first recruited, with strikers Kayden Jackson and Jerry Yates following soon after.

Derby County boss Paul Warne has described Dutch midfielder Kenzo Goudmijn as a bargain buy as he tries to rebuild the Rams in a "crazy" English market.

The 22-year-old became Derby's fourth summer recruit and cost a reported 820,000 euros (£690,000), external from Eredivisie side AZ Alkmaar.

Warne said a focus will remain on recruiting from abroad in search of better value as he tries to make at least another eight additions to his squad ahead of their return to the Championship.

"The English market is through the roof, the players are too expensive for the type of player that we wanted so we knew we had to look abroad," said Warne about the search that led to Goudmijn.

"Ten weeks ago we were told we had no chance, it would cost X amount. But we just kept chipping away and eventually it becomes more affordable and eventually becomes very affordable and in comparison to the English market, it feels like he is half-priced, so it’s a no-brainer.

"Everyone is reaching out to different markets because you get more bang for your buck."

Derby County have re-signed Ebou Adams from Cardiff City for an undisclosed fee after the midfielder helped the Rams to promotion from League One last season.

The 28-year-old Gambia international moves to Pride Park on a three-year deal having featured 17 times on loan for Paul Warne's side last term as they sealed their return to the Championship as runners-up in the third tier.

Adams was an instrumental figure in their push for promotion after the turn of the year, with the Rams winning 11 and losing just three of the matches he featured in.

The permanent move to Derby ends Adams' two years with Cardiff, where he managed just 13 appearances in all competitions.

Crystal Palace midfielder David Ozoh has joined Derby County on loan for the season.

The 19-year-old Palace academy product has made 13 senior appearances for the Premier League club, but is yet to start a game for the Eagles.

Ozoh, who was born in the Spanish city of Valencia but has represented England at under-18 level, had previously been linked with a move to Plymouth, external - Derby's Championship rivals now managed by ex-Rams boss Wayne Rooney.

"I felt like this was the best place to kick-start my career," Ozoh told Derby's website., external

"I played a couple of games last season and was on the bench a bit too. But that can get a bit frustrating, so I thought I should go out and get some games. So, I’m really happy to be here."

Four of Derby's seven summer signing have been midfielders, with Ozoh following Ben Osborn, Kenzo Goudmijn and Ebou Adams in making the move to Pride Park.

Forwards Jerry Yates, Kayden Jackson and Corey Blackett-Taylor, who initially joined on loan from Charlton last term, have also joined Derby after promotion from League One was secured.

Rams boss Paul Warne said he started the summer wanting 12 new additions, as he rebuilds his side for their return to the Championship after a two-year absence.

Derby start their campaign at Blackburn Rovers on Friday, 9 August.

Derby County have signed goalkeeper Rohan Luthra on a one-year contract ahead of the 2024-25 Championship season.

The 22-year-old joins having trained with Derby's squad during pre-season and turned out for the Rams in their victory against Stockport County.

He joins having come through Crystal Palace's academy, before leaving to link up with Cardiff City in 2021.

Having spent three seasons with the Bluebirds he was released by the club at the end of last season.
