Colin's Last Stand - Are You With Me? - 20/09/2023

They say we're in a good position but we weren't when this decision was made. We hadn't beaten WBA and Rotherham. If fact, our points snd position were crap (although I did have faith that it would change). Anyway, my point is that they are behaving like our position before West Brom was as it is today. He's talking crap. Neil was talking about getting a better home up here with it being for a year... which he was in the process of moving into when he was told. You don't have to be a ratman's dog to smell a rat. They've shat on him and I'm sure he'll tell us about it at some point. And, who knows, we might be the team he has to come in in Feb to rescue.  Doh

He made a few digs about the timing of this and he seemed to be defending Rocket Ron. I don't doubt Ron has done much more than some idiots have given him credit for. He's slways the one talking to players prematch and you see him doing it in training. He's as much responsible for our change as Warnock is. He also seemed to imply that someone else won't get out of these players what they've done.

Wouldn't be in the least bit surprised if he's back in February AmChaff, and that by then there's possibly rumours of yet more new owners.

Football managers have to be politicians as they are the face of the football club, not the board, who should be, but they have to talk for the board, or the crap they have to spout so they don't piss off the board.
Telling that the new owner coudn't be arsed to be here today isn't it? Even on the t'interweb? Telling that he couldn't be arsed to be available for the last few days of the transfer window so we could seal some deals too.

Like I said before, these guys are corporate vultures/leeches, aka Venture Capatilists, in it for what they "can get out of it whist they are in it". Two or three season plan to be in the Prima Donna League my arse. They've already raped the club of a big chunk of money. If we had owned the stadium they would have sold it to themselves (under another name) and leased it back to us. It's the only thing I don't understand about the normal modus operandi about these twats. They bought us knowing we don't own the stadium.

Warnock and his mates have likely been paid off for the season to keep them quiet. Problem is his mates (Rocket Ron et al) are on more or less "me and thee rates" so need a job for next season to pay the bills. Warnock is already on Government Pension plus "whatever he gets so he doesn't mind" rates. That and he's had a few pay-off's afore that means he's not desparate for the cash for his next sandwich and coffee. Rocket Ron maybe less so.

Take it from me, even being a couple of years out from "Government Retirement" it's no fun not knowing if you've any money coming in for the next few months but you can't call yourself unemployed either. Even if you do you get 2/10th's of bugger all because you've been self-employed. You get a few more 10th's of bugger all if you've been employed. How they think it pays any bills, let alone feeds you is beyond me.

Bruce Arena was on gardening leave at New England since August.

Kevin Nagle went off Twitter for a week after the Norwich game. Supposedly on holiday.

Warnock is told we have a new man, after the West Brom game.

A week later, Arena quits New England.

He has an honours list longer than Warnock's, as well as managing the USA national team for 8 years.

He's three years younger than Warnock, so more of a long term prospect. Whistle

If the new manager was going to be Darren Moore or Nathan Jones, they would be in by now. Warnock would've been out before the Rotherham game.

The new manager won't be in place for the Coventry game. Jonny Worthington has been given this one, which means, to me, the new boss doesn't yet know the squad. Jones or Moore would know everything about our squad.

Just saying! Tongue

Yes Nagle went off line for the last few days of the the transfer window. That was helpful.

This lot are more likely to pick Johnny 5 (alive) than Jonny Worthington as a coach

Well we've finally got more than a 2 line mention at the end of the Championship Roundup feature in The Graun.

Nowt in here you've not already seen though - https://www.theguardian.com/football/202...inst-stoke

Still trying to work out how I've done a Stoke thread and not mentioned Oatcakes, but then again this one isn't really about Stoke.

I nearly made that one Di Rain Wales Big Grin

These guys likely all have access to performance data, how good they are at accessing it (never mind understanding it) on their own is another matter. Other than UK based managers being able to sit in the stand and watch what players are doing that aren't in the camera shot, all our games are available on t'interweb somewhere, so no excuse for knowing nowt about our squad Snoots.

Mind you, Warnock blew the myth of performance data out of the window when he said if I can't see it with my own eyes when I watch them train and play, I'm doing something wrong - or something similar. He still knows how far players have run in matches though, so he doesn't completely ignore it.

Whoever this new guy is, he'll need a work permit if he's from ouside the UK. A Brexit benefit if from the EU, always applied from elsewhere, unless he's a Brit that has been working abroad. Even if he's had one before he'll need to renew it as he is changing employers. Probably explains the delay from telling Warnock after the West Brom game to holding back to this week. Changing jobs/job titles within employers once you are employed is less of (or not even) an issue. I got those t-shirts when I was in Canada.

Sorry, I got the wrong US national coach. It's rumoured to be double World Cup winning coach, Jill Ellis.
