Northampton Town defender Ali Koiki has signed a new two-year deal with the newly promoted League One club.

The 23-year-old has made 72 appearances since arriving in the summer of 2021, with 24 coming last season as the Cobblers finished third in League Two to go up automatically.

Cobblers boss Jon Brady said the former Bristol Rovers left-back has "become an important player" at Sixfields.

"Ali has improved and developed in his time with us," Brady said

"We think there is still more to come from him and under our coaching and our guidance we hope he will continue that progress."

Northampton start their League One campaign at home against fellow promoted side Stevenage on Saturday, 5 August.

Northampton Town have re-signed Fulham forward Kieron Bowie on a season-long loan deal.

The 20-year-old scored five goals in 40 appearances as the Cobblers won promotion from League Two last term.

He has yet play a senior game for Fulham since joining them from Scottish club Raith Rovers two years ago.

"He is a key signing for us. We know exactly what we are getting and Kieron knows what his role is and what we expect from him," said boss Jon Brady.

"We feel Kieron improved as a player during his time with us last season and we are delighted he will be back to continue that development with us in League One.

"He is a popular figure both in the dressing room and amongst the fans and it is great news that he will be back at Sixfields. The fact that a Premier League club like Fulham are willing to send Kieron back to us is a big compliment to both the club and the environment we have created," Brady told the club website.

Bowie is Northampton's second signing since winning promotion, following former Barrow defender Patrick Brough.

They will start the new season with a home game against Stevenage - who were also promoted last season - on 5 August.

Goalkeeper Tom King, meanwhile, has joined Premier League club Wolves on a free transfer after playing eight games for the Cobblers last season.

Manny Monthe has signed a two-year deal to join League One club Northampton Town for the new season.

Defender Monthe, 28, moves to Sixfields from Walsall, where he played 93 games across his two years.

He has had three promotions during his career, one at Forest Green Rovers and two with Tranmere Rovers.

"We were looking for another experienced centre-back and we are pleased to have recruited Manny," said Cobblers manager Jon Brady.

Northampton Town have signed striker Tyreece Simpson from Championship club Huddersfield on a season-long loan.

The 21-year-old made 10 appearances for The Terriers last season, but his only start came in their 3-1 FA Cup defeat by Preston North End.

He began his career at Ipswich and spent the 2021-22 campaign on loan at Swindon, scoring 11 goals in 30 games.

"Tyreece is a long time target of ours," Northampton boss Jon Brady told the club website.

"He has the physicality to be a big threat but he is much more than that. He is a striker who knows where the net is, he is mobile, he has the hunger and desire to do well and he fits the profile of players we are looking for.

"He will add to our attacking options at the top end of the pitch and will be something different for us."

Northampton will be at home to Stevenage, another side promoted from League Two last season, in their opening game of the new campaign on 5 August.

Northampton have re-signed midfielder Marc Leonard on a season-long loan from Premier League side Brighton.

The 21-year-old made 48 appearances last season to help the Cobblers earn promotion to League One.

The Scotland under-21 international had youth spells at Rangers and Hearts before moving to the south coast.

Town boss John Brady said: "Anyone who watched him play last season will know what he can bring to the team and the role he can play.

"Marc was one of the top performing players in the division last season.

"The fact that two Premier League clubs are willing to send a young player back to us for a second loan spell shows they value and respect the work we do too, the setup we have and the progress the players are making."

Northampton Town have signed Newcastle United goalkeeper Max Thompson on loan until January.

The 19-year-old will join the first team squad, with young Cobblers keeper James Dadge likely to go out on loan.

Thompson has represented England at Under-18 level and was considered by Newcastle for last season's Carabao Cup final after Nick Pope's suspension.

"Max has a great pedigree and we believe he will fit in to the squad well," said manager Jon Brady.

"He is highly thought of at Newcastle and we are grateful to them for allowing us to borrow Max."

Thompson joined Newcastle's academy at the age of 11 before signing a professional deal with the club in December 2021.

Dadge has been number two to first-choice goalkeeper Lee Burge at Sixfields.

"He will join our first team squad and we are really pleased to welcome such a highly-rated young goalkeeper to the club," Brady added.

"We believe the best course of action for James Dadge is to head out on loan to aid his development by playing week in, week out, and Max's arrival allows that to happen."

Northampton captain Sam Hoskins has signed a new contract with the club.

The Cobblers striker has agreed terms on a deal until 2026 which will extend his stay at Sixfields to 11 years.

The 30-year-old has scored 25 goals in his last 46 league games and has scored in the game which clinched Town promotion on three separate occasions.

"No praise can be too high for Sam, on or off the field - he just keeps getting better and better," Town boss Jon Brady said.

Brady told the club website: "He is a key figure for us and he is the sort of player who steps up time and time again when we need him. He is a real leader in the dressing room and someone the younger players look up to.

"His record over the last 18 months is no accident - that is down to hard work. We made him club captain at the start of the season to reflect the influence and standing he has within the group."

Northampton Town defender Jordan Willis has signed a new contract to remain with the League One club until the end of the season.

The 29-year-old former Coventry and Sunderland player joined Northampton as a free agent on a short-term deal in October after leaving Wycombe in June.

He has featured 13 times for the Cobblers, who are 11th in the table after 23 games.

"He has been a very welcome addition," said Cobblers boss Jon Brady.

"I know his performances have generated other interest, so it is good news that we have been able to extend his stay."

Northampton Town have increased their goalkeeping options by signing Louie Moulden on loan from Wolves for the rest of the season.

The 22-year-old has yet to play a first-team game for the Molineux club, but appeared in two EFL Trophy games for their Under-21s in 2020-21.

He spent the first half of this season with National League club Rochdale.

Northampton boss Jon Brady said: "He will support and challenge Lee Burge and we want to have that competition."

The signing of Moulden - who was on loan at Solihull Moors last season - comes a day after Norwich City forward Tony Springett arrived on loan at Sixfields.

"We have been watching his progress closely and we are delighted we have been able to bring him in," added Brady.

"He has a decent amount of experience under his belt and we feel he is ideal for us to bring into the squad at this time."

Ninth-placed Northampton are next in League One action away to Oxford United on Saturday.
