I think the season kicks off before the Ashes finish. Something fu'cking stupid like 8th of August  which is even before the grouse shooting season gets underway on the 12th  Big Jack would have told them to f'uck off and gone shooting anyway 

Just googled it. 5th of August with possibly a game on the 4th for TV well f'uck that, I'll be bumming around the NW500 by then and knocking on Stateside's door on the 7th at 3 in the morning asking if he can recommend any of the local sheep or mountain goats to eat
