Not many surprises in this formal announcement by Clarke although I find Billy Gilmour's inclusion to be questionable. A new choice of goalkeeper? I think this was inevitable after Gordon's bad leg injury. The big goalie's age was also gonna be a big factor anyway. Gregg Taylor not considered due to a Celtic request? Not a prob as we are well covered on the left back position. We'll see how Gunn performs in these upcoming quali matches. The first match v Cyprus will be a decent debut match for him. The second fixture v Spain will be a tough assignment for this Scotland team and testy for the new goalie.

Gunn's a calamity waiting to happen if tonight's performance is anything to go by. Big Grin

Thankfully, there are two other goalies to choose from although both of them similarly uncapped. The choice is ultimately about who is in good form in the lead up to these important Euro quali matches.

FT and a vg 3-0 win for Scotland. Super John McGinn opening the scoring with a well taken goal at the back post in a reasonable 1st half display by the guys. Second half not so good although Clarke's use of subs very effective with sub McTominay grabbing a "brace" of goals late on in the match. Next game v Spain on Tuesday night at Hampden Park - a tougher challenge and they'll need to "up their game" to have any chance of attaining a positive result.

A wins a win, and cyprus never really bothered us.... But i didn't think we played well.

Spain will be a much sterner test.

Why are the Scotland games on a pay per view channel?

If England did this, they wouldn't get away with it.

This is a topic which is highly contentious and has baffled a lotta folk up here LS as lots n lots of Scotland fans are being marginalised from watching live coverage of big games like this one while we keep being fed live coverage of England matches on STV (now Channel 4), a case of, "What is going on re this ridiculous form of media coverage"???? As you say - there would be an outcry in England if this was done retrospectively.

Anyway, Scotland registering a famous 2-0 win v Spain tonight and max pts registered in group A while Norway dropping another 2 pts in Georgia. All looking good for Scotland so far. And another McTominay double to boot!! He has quadrupled his total number of Scotland goals since coming on v Cyprus on Saturday afternoon - well done that man!! Still a lotta work to do and games to play, but long may this form continue from players, many of whom play/compete at a decent level of footie and look like they really are beginning to "gel" together.

And a formal meeting convened today by the SFA with all interested TV broadcasters and reps of the Scottish Football Supporters Association - requested by the Scot govt after lobbying by a SNP MP, Gavin Ewings. The topic of interest is surprise, surprise - "Why are Scot footie fans not being given extensive free coverage of Scotland international footie matches as practised by the FA in England". No accord reached after this meeting as, no doubt, lotsa vested interest attached to live tv coverage of Scotland matches.
