Darren Moore is sending Barry to talk to Howard Webb about all the officiating controversies according to a Star article..

That's us getting pumped by the officials for the remainder of the season nailed on.

It's already been decided that we would get pumped for 96 years Whistle Only another 62 to go Thumb up

Remember Heysel, and numerous other occasions when ticketless Pity City fans were rampaging through Europe, even if it wasn't their fault Cool

I’ve now got my password sorted out (again) and thought I’d add some discussion points. Lucky enough to see three games so far this year: Home against Ipswich, Port Vale and Cambridge (could have gone to Oxford but it was B freezing cold). My three sons have all gravitated back to Sheffield and now got 5 grandkids in Sharrowvale, Meersbrook and Bradway so come more often. Three Issues:
Time wasting - somebody told me recently that the average game lasted 58 mins. Ipswich were terrible when at Hillsborough. One guy decided to check his tieups in the Wednesday half after they scored their second. I would add Cambtidge were wasting time at they as they didn’t want to concede more. Dean Windass in South Stand next to my brother in law. Miserable even when son got a hattrick.
Wrestling = every time either keeper hoofed ball upfield the centre forward and centre back had a 3 /4 second wrestling match before trying to head ball. What are referees doing? I remember game against Everton in 90’s when Des Walker was up against Duncan (thug) Ferguson. Des stood 2 or 3 yards off Duncan. Knew he could’t beat him in the air so just let him win it. Des just won the second ball.
Watching live versus TV - I had no time for Paterson or Smith before seeing them live. Both much more impressive live. Paterson does an enormous amount off the ball and Smith holds up well. Not sure why TV gives a false view. Seen it before with Souness, Gullit and Zidane. Much more impressive live than on TV.

Welcome back Paris!! Btw, what took you to Paris in the first instance, assuming you live there? I am getting back 7 or 8 times a year with my current job so am getting to more games as well. Love going to Hillsborough, still makes the hair stand up on the back of my neck, and I get to take my Mum who doesn’t go now my Dad is in a care home.

Totally agree about Paterson, not 100% on Smith yet but he is scoring goals like he did yesterday. I think the time wasting might be worse in League 1 but I liked what they did at the WC and added more time on at the end of each half. Every team does it, including us, depending on the score in the 75th minute and on.

To answer your question St Charles we moved to Paris in ‘97. My company in North East got taken over but I was asked to stay. Option was move to Swansea ot Paris. Wife took about 1 second to choose. I was quite late in becoming a Wednesday fan. Met a “Sheffield” lass at Uni. Moved to work for BSC in ‘77. Turns out “Sheffield” lass was born in Moorgate hospital in Rovrum and brought up in Thurcroft. I think she was a bit ashamed so said she came from Sheffield. I originate from IOW (remember Roy Shiner) and local clubs were Saints and Pompey. But I took to supporting Man City (mainly because they were not Manure who all the other kids supported). But coming from the Island you never had a close link to any club and also the reason I feel a bit of an imposter on this site. Lived in Sheffield from ‘77 to ‘91 and went to odd games. But played for local teams in Saturday and Sunday leagues so few opportunities. Moved to North East and brother thought it a good idea to simpify buying Xmas presents for 4 kids. Bought half season tickets for all 4 in ‘’94/95/96. I bought my own and we had great days out. Long drive to game listening to Lightning Seeds, walk to ground, mince beef and onion pie at half time, drive home listening to David (toe sucking) Mellor on 606. Loved it all. I remember first game with season Ticket was when Darko Somethingvic and the prancing donkey played. Best game ever was 5 - 1 thrashing of West Ham with Waddle doing donkey ears at David Burroughs. Also sat behind Posh Spice at Old Trafford the day she met Goldenballs (sporty spice took some stick that day from Manure fans). That was last game I saw before moving to Paris. Still got their autographs on menu if you want to bid. But left watching top premier teams and now I go back to see Forest Green, Fleetwood, Morcambe and f** Wycombe. Sorry for pouring out my Wednesday story.

Everyone has a different story as to how they became a Wednesday fan!! My Dad was a Wednesday fan but I grew up in Australia in the late 60s/early 70s, so knew nothing of English football really. Once we moved back to Sheffield in 73, my Dad started taking us to the odd game, my first memory is sitting near the front of the South Stand being mesmerized by Willie Henderson running down that wing towards the Kop end. Got my first ST in 77/78 and had one until 2000/01 season when we moved to the US. Did 56 games in one season in the mid-80s when me, my Dad and Brother would go to away games all the time. My Mum and Dad kept their STs until 2017 when my Dad's Alzheimer's kicked in too much for him to go, so my Mum stopped going as well, so as I said its good to take her when I get back.

I started watching them when we were playing in Div 3 and have seen us promoted 5 times and relegated 5 times and now nearly 50 years later we are still in Div 3!! This season could be the first time I have seen us win a division though and the first time we could top 100 points!

I actually never played football at any level, wasn't any good at it!!
