Oh look, scotlands parliament consults and debates for 3 years putting together a change in the law, it gets overwhelming support in our parliament and then Westminster goes "no you can't have that...sorry". I guess their need for culture war and distraction is more important than anything else.

There is no point in Holyrood (most powerful devolved parliament in the world apparently), As i've said a million times Westminster regards scotland as a region rather than a nation they are in partnership with. Might as well just bin parliament until the people decide to realise what SELF determination means.

I'd suggest that the word "region" should be changed to "colony"! Look up the definition of a colony under the rule of another superior govt with the bigger population to back it up. I say Scotland is actually a colony of England and these recent depressing events, incl the "levelling up" bidding fiasco/con, back it up. I emphasise the word "depressing" again!! It is so depressing watching this whole autocratic, undemocratic fiasco unfold. I also find it ironic that the "brain dead" Sec of State for Scotland is mockingly described as the Viceroy of Scotland by a Labour MSP, Paul Sweeney!! That says it all!! Why don't the rest of these people (Lab, LidDem) "smell the coffee" and start preaching the case for self-determination - I JUST DON'T GET IT AT ALL!! The Union is broken, it's over!! Our Tory-Labour Brit establishment opponents will never relinquish the absolute power that they crave for good reason and they will defer and procrastinate for as long as it takes until our Scottish population finally "grasp the nettle" and declare our sovereign right, OUR RECOGNISED (IN PARLIAMENT, 1987) CLAIM OF RIGHT to break away from the Union and go our separate way!!!

On the day that we celebrate the life of Rabbie Burns, how symbolic it is to see our SNP leader at Westminster, Stephen Flynn, calling the Tory Party a "parcel of rogues" after the PM, Sunak, shamelessly blanked (nothing new btw!!) the 1st of his two searching questions re the endorsement of Tory corruption, tax-dodging and the methods of doing it incl the use of offshore accounts and non-dom status - EMBARRASSING WHAT!!!?? And Sunak doing one massive "bodyswerve" AGAIN!! We need to somehow get away from this imposed subservience to this "parcel of rogues" - INDEPENDENCE IS NORMAL!! TELL A FRIEND!!

Quite, but he didn't just dodge your beloved SNP MP's questions, though he not as skilled at finding non-answers to straight questions as the blustering bawbag who's (drinks) cabinet he resigned from last year. He's also seemingly obsessed with a former Labour Party leader and at the moment former Labour Party member too. He can't go a single PMQ's without bringing him up. On this basis we should all be campaigning for Independence from Westminster.

A Trump-style wall in the vicinity of the Watford Gap and beyond would be a start then? Thankfully, Scotland still has a "get out" as a sovereign country even though it will be clearly difficult (but not impossible - the Scot people will eventually call it IMO!)) to finally rid ourselves of a fractured Union where Scotland is not an equal partner and is not a member of a voluntary Union that has been shamelessly and bogusly preached for long enough - proved to be untrue to the point many Scots realise we are 2nd class citizens in a failed Union!! I repeat, "independence is normal" and recent polls conducted by The National bear this out re support for independence rising and vote preferences in a de facto referendum - all positive and no f##### wonder!!

Way too far North. I'd prefer it to be built round the City of Westminster, as one round the North/South Circular would leave some disparate souls still stuck with the bastards. Or better still rebuild the one the Romans built round the original City and move the bastards to The Tower where they belong.

Rishi! would likely rebuild Hadrian's Wall at Scotch Corner.

Rishi? Should be on another OP, but seriously when he put his name forward as Tory leader (and PM), Rishi Sunak promised he would lead with "integrity, professionalism and accountability - SO HOW IS THAT WORKING OUT FOR HIM?
He's just been fined by the Police for breaking the law again - not wearing a seat belt! Previously broke lockdown rules! SO MUCH FOR HIS INTEGRITY!! Rolleyes
His professionalism is apparent in the professional way he has helped as Chancellor, and now PM, to raid the public purse, starve essential servs like the NHS of funding and instead, plough billions of quid into the pockets of Tory donors.
The feeble attempt at using Baroness Mone as a scapegoat doesn't scratch the surface of the crooked actions of successive Tory governments of which he has been a key member. And lets not forget his boast re diverting cash meant for needy poverty areas into rich Tory constituencies - HE'S JUST DONE IT AGAIN IN "LEVELLING UP" FUNDING!
As for accountability? Why did he appoint Zahawi as Chairman of the Tory Party? It now looks clear that in his short term as Chancellor, Zahawi was negotiating with HMRC officials re his own tax bill. Who else manages to get away with not paying £3.7M without so much as a court hearing or being locked up in prison? Instead, Zahawi is kept within the higher positions of the Tory Party. THERE IS NO ACCOUNTABILITY WITHIN THE TORY GOVT - THEY ARE AS CROOKED AS ONE ANOTHER AND DON'T GIVE A DAMN WHO KNOWS WITH NO CHANCE OF RADICAL GOVT REFORM TO CHANGE IT BTW. Hence Stephen Flynn's mocking description of them as "A parcel of rogues"!!

Anyone have any thoughts on the new Gender Recognition Bill passed by the Scottish Parliament? Personally I think it's an example of the worst possible law being passed in the name of diversity and inclusion.
