Coventry have signed midfielder Kasey Palmer from Championship rivals Bristol City for an undisclosed fee.

The 25-year-old has agreed a three-year contract with the Sky Blues, who finished 12th last season.

Palmer began his career at Chelsea and joined Bristol City in 2019, initially on loan, following temporary spells with Huddersfield, Derby and Blackburn.

"He is a player with great technical and creative ability," Coventry boss Mark Robins told the club website.

"Kasey will add further quality to our squad, and brings much experience at this level too."

Palmer, who only made eight appearances for Bristol City in 2021-22, the last in January, is Coventry's first summer signing.

He played for England up to under-21 level, but won a full international cap for Jamaica against the USA last year.

"Since the first time I spoke with the manager and spoke with my old coach Adi (Viveash), I've been keen to get it done and get here," Palmer said.

"I pretty much knew from doing my research and after speaking to him, he confirmed the style of play and how much I would be involved and be a part of his plans.

"The manager wants to play good football, play out from the back and play through the thirds with the number 10s getting in the pockets."

Coventry City have signed Crystal Palace left wing-back Tayo Adaramola on a season-long loan.

The 18-year-old has made two first-team appearances for Palace, both in the FA Cup last season.

The Republic of Ireland Under-21 international went on Palace's pre-season tour of Singapore and Australia.

"He is a player that is full of energy, gets up and down the left side and will add another exciting dynamic to the squad," said Coventry boss Mark Robins.

Coventry City have signed Arsenal teenager Brooke Norton-Cuffy on loan.

The 18-year-old right wing-back, initially loaned to fellow Championship side Rotherham in August, now joins the Sky Blues until the end of the season.

But he must wait for his debut, having not signed in time to be eligible for Saturday's FA Cup third round tie at home to non-league Wrexham.

Mark Robins' Sky Blues were only lifted from a transfer embargo three days before Christmas.

The England Under-19 international, who made his CBS Arena debut in October, for Rotherham against Coventry in a 2-2 draw, becomes City's first January window signing.

He was close to joining Coventry in the summer at time when the Sky Blues were still attempting to combat their early-season stadium issues, but moved instead to Rotherham on what was supposed to be a season-long loan.

"Brooke is a player who we tried to bring in during the summer transfer window," Robins said.

"He is a strong and powerful wing-back with great pedigree and attitude."

Having made the last of his 21 Rotherham appearances at Millwall on New Year's Day, he will be expected to make his Sky Blues debut at leaders Burnley on Saturday, 14 January.

Norton-Cuffy, who spent the second half of last season on loan at Lincoln, featured in the England side that won the European Under-19 Championship last summer.

Coventry City have made their second January transfer signing by bringing in Josh Wilson-Esbrand on loan from reigning Premier League champions Manchester City.

The 20-year-old England Under-20 left-back has signed with the Championship club until the end of the season.

"He's been in and around the Manchester City first-team set-up over the last 12 months," said boss Mark Robins.

"He has pace, power, technical ability and a lot of potential."

The London-born defender will be making his first loan move away from Manchester since joining City from West Ham's Academy in 2019.

He made his City first-team debut in September 2021 when he started in the 6-1 Carabao Cup win over Wycombe Wanderers, since when he has made two Champions League appearances this season against FC Copenhagen and Sevilla.

Alongside Arsenal right wing-back Brooke Norton-Cuffy, he is in line to make his Sky Blues debut this Saturday at league leaders Burnley.

Coventry City goalkeeper Ben Wilson has signed a new two-and-a-half year contract with the Championship club.

After spending most of his career as a goalkeeping understudy, the 30-year-old from County Durham has won a regular first-team place this season.

And he now totals 67 appearances for the promotion hopefuls.

Wilson originally arrived on a three-year deal in 2019 when City were based at St Andrew's in Birmingham, but is now tied to the Sky Blues until 2025.

After starting at Sunderland, Wilson had short stays at Cambridge United and Accrington before joining Cardiff City in 2014.

His four years there as stand-in keeper included loan spells with AFC Wimbledon, Rochdale, Oldham Athletic, Bristol Rovers and AFC Telford United before he signed for Bradford City in 2018.

After another season largely on the bench at Bradford, that all meant he had made just 36 career appearances when he signed for the Sky Blues on a three-year deal in 2019.

But he has been the first choice this season ahead of Simon Moore.

Mark Robins' Coventry lie 15th in the Championship, just six points shy of a play-off place, going into Saturday's lunchtime home game with David Wagner's seventh-placed Norwich City.

Coventry City have signed defender Luke McNally from Championship leaders Burnley for the rest of the season.

The 23-year-old Irishman becomes Sky Blues boss Mark Robins' third January loan signing, following Arsenal's Brooke Norton-Cuffy and Josh Wilson-Esbrand from Manchester City.

McNally has played four times for Burnley since signing from League One Oxford United in June 2022 for £1.8m.

City have also signed teenage defender Riccardo di Trolio from St Albans City.

The 17-year-old will stay with the Hertfordshire-based National League South club on loan until the end of the season before joining the Sky Blues development squad.

"It's always been a dream to sign my first professional contract," he said. "To do it with a club like Coventry is the icing on the cake. The club has a great history."

On McNally, City manager Robins said: "Luke is a very talented footballer, who is strong defensively. He's big and athletic, and strong in the air."

City stand 15th in the Championship, seven points shy of a play-off place.

Coventry City have made three signings in one day - Preston North End striker Sean Maguire, Burnley defender Luke McNally on loan and St Albans City teenager Riccardo di Trolio.

Maguire, 28, has signed on a contract until the end of the season.

McNally, 23, arrives from the Championship leaders on a loan deal for the rest of the season.

Di Trolio, 17, will be loaned back to the Hertfordshire-based National League South club until the end of the season.

Irishman Maguire has been at Preston for five-and-a-half seasons, scoring 22 goals in 159 league games.

But he has failed to score in 10 appearances this term - and has not figured in the first team since mid-November.

After starting his career in Ireland at Waterford, he spent two-and-a-half years on West Ham United's books from January 2013 to June 2015.

He made loan moves to Sligo Rovers and Accrington Stanley before returning to Ireland to join Dundalk, then Cork City.

"He is an experienced striker at this level," City boss Mark Robins told the club website. "He has a number of qualities that will help us between now and the end of the season. He can hold up the ball well and is adept at bringing others into play."


McNally earlier became Sky Blues boss Robins' third January loan signing, following Arsenal's Brooke Norton-Cuffy and Josh Wilson-Esbrand from Manchester City.

Coventry City midfielder Ben Sheaf has signed a new deal with the club to run until the summer of 2026.

The 25-year-old joined the Sky Blues from Arsenal in 2020, initially on loan, and has scored twice in 31 appearances this season.

City are just three points outside the Championship play-off places.

"Ben is now a Championship midfielder with great pedigree, who brings real quality and composure to our squad," manager Mark Robins said.

Sheaf scored the opening goal when Coventry won 4-1 at Blackpool in their last match before the international break.

They have eight games left to try and force their way into the top six, starting with a home fixture against Stoke City on Saturday.
