It's not just Mone. Private Eye wrote all this up last year. Someone at the Grauniad must have picked up an old copy in the doctors waiting room and followed the money trail to Mone. There's more than just a few others where companies that were barely doing any business suddenly banked millions in new off-shore tax haven registered holding company accounts. Mone just happens to be in the public eye. As for her taking time off from The Lords, hell nowt new there. She's only made 4 or 5 appearances to since her maiden speech to actually say anything (whether of actual importance or not), but has still trousered £'000's in "appearance money and expenses".

Agreed, there were a lot more "fingers in the pie" than Mone. One searching question I'd like to ask is, "Why is she a titled person anyway"???? Bizarre IMO!! I'm guessing she is another Tory donor much like the rest of these cronies who buy their way into the unelected House of Fools, an anachronism in 21st century Britain!!
Also re Hancock, "Why is this waste of skin and air allowed to write a book (that damns Mone btw) to sanitise his involvement as Health Secretary when he and the Brit Govt allowed thousands of people to needlessly die"??? He is, like many Tory donors, still cashing in on Covid! When will Bozo's book about what a great guy he is, and how everyone let him down, be hitting the shelves??? Disgusting, but unsurprising in this Johnsonian era - LIES ARE THE NEW TRUTH EH!!!

Well yeah, her and hubby sent a few quid into Tory HQ. Hell it worked for the Russian's, who were always accused of funding Labour, yeah right, so why not her and her current hubby? She was labelled a pain in the arse for her lobbying but she got what she wanted. A few more days in a swimsuit on the publicity yacht we've paid for while she ahem, clears her name. For the rich that normally involves a court order preventing any publication of embarrassing info.

I hope they get their "just desserts", similar to the Argentinian retribution, but not holding my breath in great anticipation - two different countries with sadly some form of protectionism evident in the British way of dealing with such blatant corruption.

I note no one has started a thread on the continuing corruption revealing itself in the European Parliament.
All organisations which become too big, too unwieldy and too bureaucratic provide endless opportunities for both small and large scale corruption.

Note these "four" offenders/bureaucrats have already been arrested! It also looks like the EU is looking at a full review of its transparency and ethics policy, something that was always regarded as a fairly strong policy for a long time. It looks like they are not "hanging about" re this issue and how to strengthen their stance against these "bad apples" who can damage the reputation of the organisation. I've never seen any move close to this kinda action in this country!!! Why????? Are we so institutionally corrupt and beyond reform to change it???? That appears to be the sad position that this broken country is in!!! The four well-known institutions I'd refer to are the Westminster Govt, the monarchy, the BBC, and the civil service. Countries, well most of them anyway, state in their constitutions what the country stands for - and what it will not stand for. To make that ethical and moral commitment effective needs institutions. These are the pillars that hold up the state. IMO without them, the state or country can't work. I could go on through each one of these institutions and scrutinise how well they are working and show how bad they are!! An absolute mess as previously emphasised by many contributors on this Sb board!

Went to give a few vials of blood (about 3 fingers full I'd say, nowhere near an armful) for stage 2 of my MOT, but they called me in for that so not yet tried the joys of ringing up for an appointment. I'm only a 5 minute walk away anyway so it's often easier to just turn up and ask, unless it's their short day.
