I know this is a song out but .... I was listening to Patrick Kielty on 5 Live yesterday morning on my way up the M6. His first guest was music producer Trevor Horn (there is hardly anyone that matters that he hasn't produced records for at some point). So Buffalo Gals was one of his. He said, not only could McLaren not sing, he couldn't even, er talk? in time to the beat. When he said 'you come in after the 8th bar' and Mclaren said 'what's a bar?' he knew he was onto a winner. So he would thump him in the chest to get him to "say" the words at the right time. After umpteen takes and 45 minutes of chest thumping, he was knackered.
