A professional/workmanlike performance as we took all 3 points. We got off to the perfect when Gregory latched onto a long band finished from close range. Both teams had a few chances with Smith being denied twice by Mitov while Stockdale denying Smith. Onto the 2nd half and we tended to keep Cambridge at bay with Stockdale not being tested while we had the odd opportunity. The in the last 15 minutes Gregory flicked in a Liam Palmer cross although what there keeper was doing I couldn't tell ya. We saw out the rest of the game fairly comfortably.

Next up and a trip to Lincoln. The Imps are lying just below mid table and I can see them finishing around about mid table, not good enough to threaten the playoffs but enough to stay away from the relegation fight. There main threats seem to be House & Diamond who have 4 goals apiece. They are managed by Mark Kennedy, who took charge in the summer after previously managing Macclesfield where he only won 1 game in 12.

Ipswich play Derby tonight. I suppose a draw or Derby win suits us. If we don't bottle our game the possibility of second is there.

The last time we managed the heights of second place must've been the last time we managed to get out of Div 3 under Meggo?

I think I'd rather Ipswich win and then bungle won't get all bottley!!! Plymouth might a big might but drop points at Bristol rovers ...I actually would like to keep the table like this for at least untill the new year us in 3rd a whisker away from automatic with a gap holding out under us !!! I think Wigan and Rotherscum played this part last season up untill after Xmas .
I do feel more confident going into Lincoln's FACup final but as we know with bungles Wednesday this can be paper thin and could get ripped to shreds within seconds !!!
Unfortunately tomorrow we have to treat this like an old fashioned cup game and kick bite and scratch the same as they will ...but we have to do it in a clever way because the ref will definitely spot our players more than little Lincoln's !!!

Ithwieke or whatever he's called ? Is one booking away from suspension so I think it's vital McGuiness stays fit because this will happen as I really don't want to see iorfa in the first team for at least another 12 starts from the bench !!!
