I've never understood that terminology, why would parts of britain require "levelling up" ? Oh aye because only London and the South East matter a xxxx to westminster and government.
As predicted KamiKwazi is going for cuts to public services that are going to make osbornes look cuddly and warm in comparison.

Nothing new there then Jim eh!! I can reflect back to well over 30 years, the same practise where it is literally a default position for the Tories to target public servs finance. It is old "tired" economics that never changes with these shameless uncaring bastards and that's a fact! I noticed that recent spat re our FM using the "detest" word against the Tories really opened up a "can of worms" after they reacted with a media orchestrated "snowflake"/you've hurt our feelings episode - this attack "turned on a sixpence" instantly on social media and other media outlets - lots n lots of people justifying the use of the "detest" word and the reasoning why millions n millions of people can't stand the Tories and their divisive political ideology/policies - ABSOLUTELY SLAUGHTERED!!! They should've "shut it" and just taken the criticism "on the chin"!!

JEREMY HUNT IS THE CHANCELLOR!
JEREMY FCKERKIN HUNT. KWASI was at least the cleverest boy at Eton. Jeremy Hunt wasn't in the top 350 when working for the BBC and fckerked up the NHS nicely too. A piggy bank would be beyond him.
Jeremy Hunt, Chancellor on a bike ................... Lizzie Truss, the woman with not an ounce of common sense. Apparently, it was between him and Dobbie the House Elf.

You beat me to it Devon.
The NHS's best friend (ahem) is now in charge of the countries purse strings. What (else) could possibly go wrong?

I reckon, that the Torykip MP's when they were doing their ballots, pretty much wanted Sunak in as PM. So they knowingly picked the thickest of the rest of the candidates to put up against him, expecting the membership to pretty much rubber stamp their plan.
What they forgot to factor in was the racism that is still rife in Tory Party Politics and their members (er, even amongst the two most recent Home Secretaries, still offering one way tickets to Rwanda). Hence the lass that used to do "favours" round the back of the bike shed for a fag at school, and for her "mentor" when she first got involved in Tory politics, became the most important person in British Politics. A car crash that was all too predictable, but the rich have got richer, again, on her back (or while they've had her on her back) while everyone else has been shafted.
