Truss Watch Activated
#11
I thought that now the execrable Liz has come through both Balmoral and democracy as re-invented by the 1922 Committee that it was time to begin spinning a thread where those appalled that a dough-faced Thatcher-impersonator can make it quite so far, can hold the feet of the witless collection of half-baked cronies she gathers around her and Ms Truss her mistrussted self to the fire, whilst simultaneously waterboarding them and consigning their broods of silver-spooned children to a sink comprehensive somewhere on the outskirts of Rochdale.

Not that I'm against her. She's just the Tory Blair, capable of holding two or more opposing views in one breath if she scents some political advantage.

Thatch took us to war in the Falklands and destroyed entire communities for the benefit of her class, but Liz's dad is a Maths Professor isn't he? Couldn't he just set her some really hard sums and make her stay in until she's got them all right? They took her to Faslane as a child to protest. What happened, did she get abused? How else could anyone turn into the Pilsbury Thatcher?

That's the number one question that is unanswered and baffled me after studying the early photos of Truss and her pro CND family - a worthy cause indeed and well up there with the huge majority view of people who live in Scotland and want them removed from Faslane asap. One thing that she clearly is, beyond doubt - a "shapeshifter", a political opportunist with no moral compass attached to her whatsoever. If she had any statesmanship about her, I'd classify her as dangerous!! It's the uncaring RW morons/influencers around her that should really concern us TBF!!

Spooky Spoon really made me laugh. Spoons with La Truss's dough-face on the back would sell brilliantly. She does look like a spoon.

I can't believe that morons speech yesterday. He has absolutely no idea why he has been binned and showed no remorse whatsoever. In fact he's clearly planning a comeback.
The relentless slide of the UK continues apace. Swivel eyed uber capitalism to the max, final destination = a "taiwan on the thames" scenario for the UK workforce. Bastards.

Anyone with a love for Pecorino, Camambert or Parmesan might want to get their orders in soon too.

Yep! Peruse the full list of ultra-right or Johnson loyalists!! Therefore, nothing has changed politically - we are stuck with the same Brexit-fascist horde of charlatans!!! I just hope Truss somehow lasts a bit longer than I reckon, mainly because I fear there is an underlying conspiracy to return Johnson to office AGAIN - an absolute nightmare btw and so Trump-like when one looks at what is going on "across the pond" - another conspiracy that must be quashed ultimately by the voting public (if they have any sense/political savvy about them!!)

Yep Jim! Johnson's smart-arse reference to Cincinnatus: Lucius Quinctius Cincinnatus, The Roman General and dictator, was the clue to his future intentions - returned to power to save the Roman upper classes from a rebellion of the lower classes. Is there an underlying RW Tory conspiracy to eventually give way to his return and then retain power for another 5 years after a General Election win???????? Meanwhile I genuinely fear the Tories preparing a full-frontal assault on democracy in Scotland, something that has already been happening up here. I just fear it is gonna get worse and we are regarded as a "soft target" in Scotland. We are not Irish either eh!! Another fear is a trade war with the EU, that is very possible imo!! Esp with their attacks on the NI Protocol, employment rights, environmental safeguards, a renewed emphasis on fracking and gas/oil extraction while obstacles placed in the way of renewables development, undermining civil liberties and rights of trade unions, demonising immigrants, and pouring petrol on the fires of culture wars to cause a distraction from the reality of they are doing. Note Truss never mentioned any of these details at the Tory hustings!! Also did nobody notice Johnson's toxic nuclear legacy he has left behind in his last weeks as PM?. He has "given the green light" to a raft of new nuclear power stations!!! Unbelievable! Pouring billions of pounds down the nuclear drain while failing to address the current energy crisis - committing future generations to a new nuclear financial black hole!! This is Boris bonkers stuff!! After previously "spouting off" his expertise on how to save energy etc so unimpressively!! Nuclear probs are clear for all to see - cost and time, it is expensive!! No new station will be seen for about 15 years. It doesn't provide any energy solution to the current crisis either. Then there is the nuclear waste issue - old technology that still has waste probs and reprocessing nuclear fuel - they use that to build nuclear weapons FFS!! Lastly, there is the clear danger of using nuclear stations - just look around the world to see examples of this threat/danger.

0762, to be honest I've nothing against nuclear power stations in themselves, but we should have been building them at least 20 years ago when we knew that they would start to be decommisioned in the following 10 years.

However, it should be remembered that rivers can run dry or flood and that wind can be too strong or too light. That's why I'm amazed that no Government seems interested in pursuing tidal wave power. The technology has been there for years and the tides have been ebbing and flowing for millions of years (just a wild estimate), so why is there a delay in forging ahead with the installation of turbines off the coast?

There's no immediate answer to the current problem of energy cost other than throwing money into a pot to help the poorest in society.
