Leyton Orient have signed Queens Park Rangers forward Charlie Kelman on a season-long loan.

The former Southend United youngster, 20, moved to the R's two years ago and has made one start and 11 substitute appearances in the Championship.

He scored twice in 26 games in a season-long loan spell at League One side Gillingham last season.

Kelman comes in to help cover injuries suffered by strikers Harry Smith and Aaron Drinan during pre-season.

"Charlie has got a great attitude, and he scored a decent amount of goals in a Southend side that was really struggling at the time," Orient head coach Richie Wellens told the club website.

"He's a really good finisher, and with his work ethic and his experience of two previous loan spells, we think that he can be a really good signing for the club."

League Two side Leyton Orient have signed defender Rob Hunt on a two-year contract.

The 27-year-old has spent the past three seasons with Swindon Town, where he made 90 appearances before leaving earlier this summer.

"He's a player that is so versatile he can play anywhere," manager Richie Wellens told the Orient website.

"He knows exactly the rotations we need, and where we want him on the pitch."

Hunt played under Wellens at Swindon, when they won the League Two title on points-per-game after the season was called off due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The defender came through the youth ranks at West Ham United and Brighton & Hove Albion before signing his first professional contract with the Seagulls in 2013.

Hunt went on to join Oldham Athletic, where he made 81 appearances.

Leyton Orient have signed Chelsea youngster Jayden Wareham on a season-long loan.

The 19-year-old forward was part of the development squad at Stamford Bridge.

Wareham joined the Premier League club from National League Woking after a successful trial in 2021.

Orient manager Richie Wellens told the club website: "Jayden's work rate, his intensity and his goal threat will make him a very welcome addition to the group."

Wellens added: "His goal record in friendlies and under-21 matches is good, and he's also had that exposure to the men's game during his time at Woking."

League Two leaders Leyton Orient have signed Brighton centre-back Ed Turns on loan until the end of the season.

The 20-year-old has made two senior appearances for the Seagulls, with both his outings for the Premier League club coming in the EFL Cup.

"There's no denying that the position in the table made the move very appealing to me," the Wales Under-21 international told the club website.

"It's a good opportunity for me to get game time, and continue to progress."

Orient had been looking to strengthen their defence as Dan Happe is expected to miss the rest of the campaign with injury.

"Our recruitment team have watched Ed about 10 times, he's a good footballer who will fit into the way we play," O's boss Richie Wellens said.

"He comes highly recommended from Brighton and the Welsh FA, and we think he has the capabilities to be a success."
