Scotland play-off semi-final draw - it's Ukraine!

So we play Ukraine at Hampden Pk in the semi-final and our final play-off opponents will be Wales or Austria.
IMO it's a decent draw and I'll take it although it will be a tough challenge, but achievable. Heartbreak or jubilation after years of failure?? We can only wait n see how it all unfolds in March next year. I wish we'd got a home play-off TBH, not to be, but the Tartan Army will still be there in huge numbers.
And Portugal on a "collision course" to meet Italy in a play-off final - OUCH!!!!!

Back to wales to clinch world cup qualification ? Memories of that night when coopers penalty sent us through and of course the late jock steins death.

Ukraine have some great players who play in the top leagues, they typically play 4-3-3 so i expect them to really test our defence. It will take a denmark level performance to stand a chance of getting through.

Whilst I fully agree that it's the right thing to do to postpone the Scotland v Ukraine game It leaves all the fans (except Ukraine who have bigger things to worry about) in limbo regarding planning for this years World Cup Finals.

Flights are already at Premium prices and the first batch of accommodation goes on sale in about 2 weeks times to those that already have match tickets through the fist sale ballot. By the time Scotland/Wales/Ukraine/Czech Rep qualify these options will be diluted even more due to the second sales period which will probably be the biggest section of sales for the World Cup.

I know what you're saying about the postponement, Wakey, but will early June be a better time? Do the authorities really think the situation will have improved by then? There will never be a "right time", but my opinion is that the game should have gone ahead in 2 weeks.

With what is going on, given that 3-4 weeks ago Russia were still saying no invasion was ever going to happen, this could last for anything from another 2 weeks to 2 years and the rest and also spill out all over Europe.

If the Ukraine squad are (mostly) out of there, or the few that aren't playing abroad can be moved out of there - I know, all their men have to stay and fight - then let them train and play the game or at least put a certain date on it. Fudging it for a few months isn't helping anyone. A Ukraine win would do wonders for their morale. Playing and losing less so, but eventually giving Scotland the walk-over is doing nobody any favours.

Yes, I don't see this war ending anytime soon either. It's really difficult for FIFA as they don't want to punish Ukraine by throwing them out as they have done nothing wrong and yet if this continues as far as June then i fear they will have no other option other than to give Scotland a bye to the play off final

If the Paralympics is owt to go by, the Ukrainian players will be even more determined to win.
I think the best thing would've been to stick with the original date.

The Ukrainian team is predominantly full of home-based players and their footie league activities naturally stopped a while ago. Therefore, their disadvantage in preparing properly for this match was acknowledged by FIFA. I share the previous view that I don't think this match will actually take place and, even if it does take place, the Ukrainian players and coaches will still be at a massive disadvantage.

I don't think this is going to happen either.
