WBA Transfer Window: (Summer 2015) Starting early..
Time is running out folks; only another week to go and still no new signings as I write.
Some days I'm top dog, most days I'm just the lamp post.
Need at least one in midfield, especially one that can go forward. Mcmanaman and 1 other is the minimum.

We haven't got that many on loan now have we? (We are normally loaned to the max!) I'd like us to go in For Salah / Joel Campbell maybe even that Pozzo from City, give him some experience.

So, the Wigan fans don't seem to care that he is going and many are pleased to take the money and run. In the FA Cup final he ran the show but has never hit those heights again since. Some are saying that say pace his his only attribute, tbh pace is the only attribute we don't have in our squad so that might not be a bad thing  Laugh Bad disciplinary record and apparently not fit to play the full 90 too often for Wigan this season.

However, he is still only 23, and being young and English means that with a decent couple of seasons we could triple our money. The season Wigan were relegated from the PL he looked quality and was touted at around £10m in the summer when their best players were all jumping ship. He is a hard worker and tracks back - perfect for Pulis' style. His pace will give us something we don't currently have on the counter attack.

If TP can instill a bit more discipline in him and the coaches work on his final ball and decision-making on the training pitch then we could have a player here. I think he would fit perfectly into Pulis' 442 on the right wing as he tracks back enough and is good enough defensively, as well as being the threat we need going forwards. With someone like Sako on the left as well we should see a bit more of a balance instead of what we saw against Everton and in the second half against Blues.

I do think £5m is at the absolute top end of what I would pay, hopefully it works out.

Agree 100% 1996 - great post Thumb up
Ameobi interest fading as he looks to prefer Palace (a better pay packet and London I guess might be factors). We are going to have to work quickly to get that extra striker in.
Big Sam suggests he is loosing interest in Fletcher so maybe there is a chance there plus obviously, and hopefully soon, we should get official confirmation of the McManaman deal
We understand a fee will be in the region of £4m to £5m. Personal terms are being negotiated today and, if agreed, McManaman will sign a three-and-a-half year contract at the Hawthorns.
Talk is that Fletcher's heading our way.

From the BBC Sport website:

The Express and Star report that West Brom could miss out on former Newcastle striker Shola Ameobi, despite agreeing a deal in principle. Crystal Palace are thought to have offered the 33-year-old better terms.

Can't say I'm the slightest bit bothered about not getting Ameobi, especially if Big Vic can continue his re-discovered scoring run.
Aries - totally agree.

If Big Vic has become 'born again' then he is a real asset for the rest of the season "like a new signing", as they say.

But we do still need an additional striker. But, with Vic o form that switches to finding a younger one with potential to develop alongside Berahino. A much better option.

Or signing a new 3 year contract with Man Utd
Bonum vinum laetificat cor hominis.
Stairs, all Vics need to be born again... Wink
I await further proof of his conversion, though - thought he scuffed both goals and could easily have drawn a blank. Hoping it really is a new start for him, though.
