Shola Ameobi? Jesus Christ... This is what happens when your manager only goes for British players and you don't have the biggest budget. You end up with other clubs' cast offs and has beens. Against Everton, the only non-British player in the starting 11 was Yacob (Anichebe might play for Nigeria but he's got a Scouse accent.) The only way we are going to be able to afford the kind of player that will make a big difference is if we find a golden gem abroad, we simply can't afford the same quality of British player! Might as well just put Nigel Farage in charge and be done with it.

Why is it that every time this club gets in a position where they are forced to rebuild the squad - YET AGAIN - they always manage to piss it up the wall. Ameobi? Basically a worse and stupidly old version of Anichebe, so we will now have three strikers that can't buy a goal. I 100% would rather have kept Samaras. Third rebuild this year required in the summer by the looks of things when Ameobi, McAuley, Olsson and Baird will be so old and slow that they turn to dust Doh

Just as I was starting to get positive about us as well Cry

Why get rid of somone who has the potential to create a goal and then replace him with someone who will bring nothing to the team!

I’d rather them have just played Nabi tbh!

Just stopped shaking my head in disbelief. Remember that on returning from Turkey, Ameobi has been training with Newcastle and obviously they don't want him, so there must be a reason. Even though I am one of those not to upset to see Samaras go I would have preferred him to Ameobi.

Hopefully he is just back up for Nabi.
