Why don't we judge Keane after 5 games?

Well I am going to sprout my crap!! I agree with MS, the one thing we have been lacking this year is service to the strikers and Antonio was our top assist guy. Add in the fact that he would chip in with goals as well (he has scored more this season for Forest than any of our players have for us!!), and that our defence is better than anything he played with, then I think he would have been worth at least 3 or 4 more wins this season. Assuming that these were games we drew then that adds 8 points to our total and we are in the playoffs!!!

But this isn't about whether we shoud have let him go or not, I had no problem with that and at the time we were excited to be getting May in, it the naive way we go about the transfers!! Ok, we got 1.5m for him but we should have insisted on a sell on clause of some description, now Forest will make 2-3m on him when we should have been getting some of that!!!

Antonio had given up and SG was fed up of him sauntering about doing feck all. Look at charlton at home last season, he was shit and was dragged off 2mins before ht but this wasn't a one off, he was like that all the time and most were fed up of sg (and dave kones before) persisting with him.

Antonio might have scored some goals but s lot of our defending is done in numbers and he is terrible at tracking back and helping (especially when he lost the ball). We might have won the odd game more but I think a lot of our draws this season would have been lost had we had Antonio standing on half way doing sod all.

And how sod we know there is no sell on clause?

That's meant to say do not sod. Fecking mobile shite site

If Antonio has any sense he will turn down WBA Doh otherwise he will be back in the Championship in 6 months anyway and, IMO, I think I know which club I'd rather be with in the 2nd tier Thumb up Forest are a far bigger and better prospect than WBA.

and the way they played at Everton the other night Angry Angry Angry Angry Angry makes SG look gung ho Whistle

Its an assumption that we didn't get a sell on clause, but its a fairly safe bet with our track record!! So far there has been no mention of it in all the media rumours about him going to WBA. If there is one, we should find out as soon as any deal is done!

What did you expect with Pulis in charge of them now??? To be fair he has so far managed 3 clean sheets with them, that alone will keep them in the Prem and that is their one and only goal these days!!! He will make them difficult to beat, it won't be pretty very often but it will likely be effective!!!

we do need some pace i admit but he couldnt hit a **** barn door !! check your stats on goals to misses ratio  Thumb up

Just checked my stats - Antonio - second most assists in SBC in 12/13, most assists combined in SBC for seasons 12/13 & 13/14 & most assists combined in SBC for seasons 12/13, 13/14 & 14/15 to date.

The reason for our improvement this season is down to Westwood. Take him out of the current team & we would be bottom four now. Add Antonio to our current team & we would be top four.

There were two reasons why SG & Antonio fell out. Both were related to SG making Antonio play when he wasn't fit. In particular the home matches against Blackpool & Charlton. After the Blackpool match (he was brought on as a late substitute), he couldn't play for another month and he had spent 24 hours throwing up before the Charlton match so wasn't fit to play.

It is not just Antonio's goals & assists that we miss but his pace forces the opposition to defend deeper, which means that we create more chances and get far more shots in from good positions.

This season we have scored 20 goals from 26 matches. Last season, we had 33 goals after 26 matches (over 60% more). The season before we also had 33 goals after 26 matches. The reason for the big drop is down to losing Antonio.

Also, it is a myth that Antonio doesn't chase back based upon the Charlton match when he was ill. In fact, he covered more miles per match than any other Wednesday player in each of the last two seasons. Last season he also had the third highest tackles per match for Wednesday, higher than Loovens, Reda, Palmer & Buxton.

We know there is no sell on clause because it was reported at the time of the sale.

Le Fondre is set to become available from Cardiff, according to reports, although "The Village" seem to be after him.

I know Dick splat Tongue I was agreeing with Thurny on the point that Antonio turned it on for two games a season!

My point about Keane was that people were slating him on here for not scoring a senior goal! We should judge him after 5 games for us!

The young un showed me a song for keane he had seen on internet somewhere! to the tune of "Jolene" by Dolly Big tits!
