It was no secret on here that Samaras scared the life out of me and I didn't rate him as a Prem player. People can disagree but TP doesn't.

...I can't see TP OR JP sanctioning these 3 departures (...3 atm) without being pretty sure that replacements will be coming in.
Even if the outgoing players weren't TP's cup of tea he could've still worked with them but their release, IMO, means there's more happening behind the scenes than we know.

Although I thought he looked good when he got given a chance, I never really saw where Samaras would fit in as we had a better lone striker in Saido and Varela was a better option on the left wing. Now it seems we will be switching to 442 there is no place for him on either wing or up front. As he is pushing on 30 it is the best move all round, lets get some young blood in Tone.

Would just like to point out that Luke Daniels has signed permanently for Scunthorpe. Gave us nearly 10 years of service, deserves to get first team football. Wish him well in the future.

Samaras best position is arguably left wing so surely a right winger (mcmanaman) & a left winger will be coming in so could well be some truth in the Antonio rumours given he plays there for forest

Disappointed that Samaras wasn't given a run in his best position on the left wing.

Thought he was a great outlet in his away days for Celtic in the Champions League. Really good at leading the break, which is why I thought TP might get something out of him.

Guess it could be a similar situation to Varela where there's a problem behind the scenes or maybe he hasn't kept himself fit enough. This should at least mean there's some incoming movement. What worries me is the quality of player we've been linked with doesn't look as good as what we're letting go, on paper at least.
