Johnson watch activated - the nightmare begins for the UK!!
Yep Matt. It looks like Johnson's plan (or whoever is "pulling his strings" now) is to "ride the political storm" up to that election year when he hopes the mood changes in the voting population down south and they give him another 10 years. God help us if this Trump style scenario unfolds. From a Scottish concept, I definitely see it spelling the death knell of a Union that has been fractured for a long time and a new young Scottish indy-supporting demographic will significantly come through to bolster the already strong Scotindy movement. Johnson is absolutely despised up here and that won't change any time soon!

It's more noticeable in frozen foods and general household items and the centre aisle in my local Aldi has been decimated. I'm sure there will not be any improvement over the next month or so.

I'm beginning to sound like my mother of 40 years ago!  Rolleyes  Doh

I've noticed more limited ranges in fruit and veg and fish. Like you say, frozen foods, bottled water and gasp Alcohol too !!

Patel "caught red-handed" again and found out breaking the ministerial rules - WHAT A JOKE!! And esp after all the previous shit/concerted media and Tory/Scot Tory efforts in trying to oust our esteemed Scot FM - not the first time and ABSOLUTELY GALLING WATCHING THEIR DOUBLE STANDARDS AND SHAMELESSLY ALLOWING THEIR OFFENDERS TO REMAIN IN POSITION UNSCATHED!!! Thumb down

I was staggered hearing that Theresa Coffey minister on the breakfast show telling people who are losing their 20 quid Universal Credit to get childcare and work for 2 hours to make up the shortfall.

What planet are these people on ?

Suzanna Reid was rightly incredulous. I fear that food bank use is going to explode over the winter.

Typical "I'm all right Jack" or in this case "Jill" attitude and behaviour from the Government that used the slogan "Labour isn't working" not so very long ago.

The Tories are a callous, heartless bunch - deliberate lazy stereotype used here. Whistle

Seriously, I thought that the £20 extra was because of Covid. Covid is still here with a vengeance, so why not keep the £20 going?

And, I might be wrong here, but I understood that if a UC recipient worked to earn extra money to help feed/house their family, that wage was then deducted from their claim.

As Churchill would say "Oh yes!".

What they giveth with the right hand, they taketh away twice as much with the left, but they will give you the address of the local food bank and not see what is wrong with that picture.

You see huge lines at food banks all over most Red states in the US, the world's richest country!! It would be just as much a travesty if we were to see them in the UK in the same numbers as they are here!! The number of people being left completely behind by the Tories and GOP is staggering and something that should cause far more headlines and anger than it currently does.

As previously debated SCO, they unfortunately have most of the press and media "under their thumb" which is as much of a travesty in this country. There are so few media/newspaper or journal outlets that are continually "on their case" in the way it should be orchestrated in a proper civilised and accountable society. Private Eye?
