Nicola Sturgeon finally begins the process of separation!
Just as expected, Nicola has had to fire a shot across the bows of an ignorant minority of Scots who are responsible for the dramatic increase in Covid cases. Socialising in crowded places without masks is a recipe for disaster and I almost fear the universities getting back to "normal" and full sports stadia.

I appreciate it's not just a Scottish problem and that we have to make the best of it, but until the ignorant among us begin to realise that with freedom comes responsibility, we're all fighting a losing battle.

Yep! Just look at the predominant younger age groups that are being infected. I'm glad a female clinical researcher from Edinburgh Uni rightly gave a critical opinion on bbc radio today re the upcoming Rangers-Celtic match in front of a huge footie crowd in Glesca at the weekend, her view being that this should not be happening and fans who are attending this match should have proof of vaccination. I sent a text to the bbc pointing out that we're back to this sport/footie exceptionalism issue again and what short memories they have if one reflects back to the COVID outbreak and not moving quickly enough to mitigate the threat at sporting venues esp with rising case numbers. NUTS!!

For me we have to just get on with life now, we where told if the majority of people got vaccinated we would get back to some kind of normal, hospital rates are not increasing and Covid is going to be here forever, we can't just keep locking down every year for months on end we need to let the virus run to be sure the vaccine does its job. People however do need to be more responsible, masks should be worn for the foreseeable future and the authorities should clamp down on those that do not abide by wearing a mask in socialising environments.

There wont be any more lockdowns bounce. The main worry now is about how the health service is going to cope this winter, the backlog is enormous and their staff are already close to burnout....thats if they aren't isolating at home with their children who are all now back at school.

Agree totally we should keep masks for the time being.

Also think some sort of official vaccine certificate should be made mandatory, if certain people can't be bothered to get there jab then they shouldn't get the same privileges as the rest of us, most of us have done what we where told over the past few years and shouldn't have to be dragged back because of a idiotic few.

This is precisely where we are with this antagonistic Brit govt. Scotland is the host country for COP26 and I don't buy this GB shit etc etc etc any more. Again we are being made aware of more antagonism based on speculation. It is clear to me that this recent Greens- Scot govt merge has really spooked a lotta the Tory/Brexit stooges in Scotland to the point where non-entities like, Ross, Jack and many other Tory sycophants have nothing more to say other than coming out with regular insults, infantile remarks and more recently heard incoherent reactions/angst to news of the likes of the Greens-SNP govt alliance. The thing that angers me most about this latest anti-Scotland revelation (we solidly voted in this SNP govt in the May election!!!) is the fact that COP26 is happening at a time of a huge global crisis re massive climate change issues!!!!!!!!??? And yet we are observing a Brit govt full of Brexit charlatans (ALL ABOUT THEM AND THEIR BOGUS GLOBAL BRITAIN SHITE!!!!) covering a political conflict/discourse like this one (trying to marginalise our FM and the Scot govt on our own soil FFS!!!!!!!?????) rather than dealing with the real climate/global warming issues preceding this conference and also respecting Scotland and its devolved governance in providing the facilities and recognising that well over 90% of renewable energy is generated for the Scot population and elsewhere - one of the best examples of renewables success in Europe, if not in a global sense as well. IMO the time is coming where we must be taking this Brit govt "to task" and not being the equal partner that lotsa these Tory morons bogusly preach now n again - utter bullshit!! They are so caught up in political/power conflict as usual and still can't "get their heads around" a democratically elected indy-supporting devolved govt in Scotland that has been voted in by the Scottish people for a very, very long time - DOHHHHHHHHHH!!!!

10 times worse than brexit says a member of the RW pro-union, Brit gov sooking press!!?? This is a classic example of desperate anti Scot gov/SNP spin by desperate unionists plus Brit govt sponsors!! The fact rating re this story is actually 10 x zero for "spinning" Blyth's comment to suit their usual shameless lying arguments akin to the Brexit con itself. Blyth's use of the phrase "It's Brexit times 10" is not a calculation, but clearly a hyperbole"!! Blyth is an economic adviser to the Scot govt and in on the post pandemic economic recovery in Scotland. He is also a backer of Scottish independence albeit sceptical before. His quote is taken from an interview to the Foreign Press Association before his appointment to the Advisory Council. He merely repeated that there would be short-term costs to indy if Scotland is to recognise its regulatory, currency and taxation position in order to escape what he terms as "the imploding growth model" currently being pursued by the Tory govt in Westminster. He is scathing re the potential negative impact of Brexit, noting the "supposed benefits have so far at least proven to be illusory". He argues that the debt-financed, monopolised UK economy outside of the EU will mean a resulting decline in investment and productivity that forces down real wages - arguing that Scotland has to escape this disastrous future - which is why he changed his mind on independence for Scotland. He reminds everyone the road will be hard, but the only alternative is to remain in the UK and go down with the sinking Tory/Brexit ship. WE CAN DO SO MUCH BETTER AS A SMALL INDY SOVEREIGN NATION WITH HUGE POTENTIAL AND CAPABILITY - BIG ENOUGH, SMART ENOUGH AND RICH ENOUGH TO DO IT AND DO IT WELL!!

Note today kick starts the launch of a huge Scotindy campaign, "Autumn of Indy Action" that will drive support for independence through online engagement, livestream debates, newspaper supplements, half a million leaflets, street work and much more activities to promote the belief that Scotland will progress more positively as an independent sovereign country. More than 100 local "Yes" groups, The National Yes Network, the Scot independence Foundation and The National combining to launch this campaign under a unifying banner, "Believe in Scotland (or Believe in Brexit & Boris' Broken Britain Thumb down). Sign the Believe in Scotland Pledge today (BelieveinScotland.org/pledge). It's time to finally push on with a Scotindy campaign that has been stunted by this horrible pandemic pandemic for far too long and "bring on board" as many of the "middle ground" undecided voters. Time to win hearts n minds to solidly bolster Scot indy support that is now past the 50% mark and gradually rising.

Whoopee!! A Tory-Brexit minister, Grant Shapps, mentions the fact Brexit is a big factor in affecting the fuel crisis and HGV driver probs - contrary to his previous defensive comments!! At long last, someone has "broken ranks" and moved away from being "wheesht" about Brexit and its negative impact on all sorts of activities/people in this country. Note it is apparently the same policy from these panic-stricken Tories re mentioning the anti Scotindy/pro-Union position - a Brit govt policy change to "wheesht for the Union" as their perception is that it only helps the Yes for Indy movement!!? My response to this latest nonsense is, "NOT TALKING ABOUT IT WILL NOT MAKE IT GO AWAY"!! As daft as it gets TBF!!! Meanwhile the meaningless Scotland Office up here still won't reveal if it has legal advice about a second indy referendum - pulling out all the stops to avoid a FOI request to divulge this information!!! Thumb down This isn't the first time these chancers seem to wanna change the rules that apply to FOI as conformed to by all govt agencies, local govt, civil service - they are not an exception! Therefore totally unacceptable and the full force of the Ombudsman and the rule of law should be applied.

I just listened to Anas Sarwar's contribution/speech at the Labour Party Conference and his vilifying comments just confirmed why the Scottish Labour Party is an irrelevance up here - a con man standing on a podium conveniently not explaining to his audience why his own party failed miserably in the Scot May election while the SNP effectively registered a landslide victory to continue its governance from the Holyrood Parliament. Why did the Scot electorate ignore you Anas eh??? And the poisonous Scot Tories a poor second??? Like many previous non-entity Scot Labour leaders, it was the same of the same bullshit/name-calling and condemnation of the SNP and nationalism in general. I've listened to the same of the same for about the last 10 years and their common disregard to democracy and the constitution in Scotland is so astonishing!! Thumb down Happy to see the Tories "Lord it" over a non-indy Scotland as well !! No wonder Scot voters have deserted them in their droves and some trade unions like UNITE have recognised that their membership has a proportionally high number of people who support the Scot govt and the quest for eventual full self-determination plus they have no affiliation to the Labour Party any more - can't ignore it!!
