WBA Transfer Window: (Summer 2015) Starting early..
QPR fail in a swap deal (Matt Phillips) for Callum McManaman at Swansea and Crystal Palace bid is rejected by Swansea for Neil Taylor - still in the game there is rumours are to be believed.

Also new defender and striker linked (cheers Beefie). I had seen them but the day job gets in the way and seeps into the evening (often!)

Steve Bruce has denied that Hull are in for Gestede, implied that they couldn't afford him. Hull the only other name in the frame if rumours are true that we are interested, perhaps offer Blackburn Ideye and £5m and we'll take Gestede and Rhodes off their hands. Only fair.

@billhowell68: @sebablanco23 on the verge of a loan move to San Lorenzo. Parma pushing to sign Varela. Both with options to buy #wba

Disappointed to lose both, Blanco wasn't given a chance and Varela had potential to be very good for us.

HOWEVER, I fully trust TP's judgement and he has to move players out to bring new ones in. Would expect two natural pacey wingers to come in, Lennon and McManaman would be perfect.

I like 'em both, '96, but probably prefer Mc as the tougher player. Don't they both play down the right, though?

Good point, although Macmanaman can play on the left I think. I'd go for Lennon personally, higher calibre of player and one of the fastest in the league.

I agree.....sad to see ANY player go without seeing him or giving him a chance (Blanco), and DEFINITELY think letting Valera go is a real shame..
...BUT if McManaman comes in that's great - think he's a really fast, exciting and STILL underrated player; and if this is going to be coupled with Lennon (obviously classy, fast & proven) then there's no complaints here! Even 1 of these would be good if they would be played regularly.....2 would be fantastic, especially coupled with another striker to take the pressure off The Dodgems Kid Dodgy
Well, I've been saying for a while that heads needed to roll in scouting & recruitment for some of the recent signings: http://www.wba.co.uk/news/article/west-b...wx6kZlk.99

Let's hope that whoever's brought in, they're actually fit for purpose this time...

Love the 'mutual consent' tag that obviously satisfies the solicitors! Big Grin
Maybe they did need to go - who knows - but IMO our scouting team, with these 2 an integral part of it, have done us proud over the last 10 years or so, unearthing the likes of Dorrans, Mulumbu, Odemwhinger, GMac, Jonas, Gera, Tamas etc etc for very low fees.
OK, there were obviously many more who flopped, but THESE guys didn't sign them, they just scouted them and reported.
Thanks, chaps Thumb up Thumb up
