All we need now is a new wealthy owner!!!!!!

We need a modern stadium but longer term if we are ever to compete for a top six PL place then we need a 60,000 capacity. Still for now a new scoreboard & a few plasma screens would be a start.

Cancer in the "gentleman's department"! Surgery in October 2013 and chemo in the second half of last year.

Arsenal were only getting similar crowds to us in the early 90s but as has happened to several clubs, getting a new ground has doubled the crowds. Whether that would happen for us is certainly debateable because the vast majority of people that call themselves Wednesday fans rarely go anymore.

Gutierrez sounds like a decent shout that would suit all parties,

Highbury was Tiny, and Arsenal had a waiting list for season tickets, as do Spurs!

This is why the Emirates was built, because they new they could fill a bigger stadium every season!

We cant even fill Hillsborough, and there aint no waiting list for season tickets! If we went up by a miracle this season, we would still struggle to have a 30,000 average in the Prem!

60,000 stadium is a pipedream Madsteve, you started on the sauce already?

To be fair to MS, he said we would need a 60k stadium if we were to ever get in to the top 6 in the prem!! I think we would be able to sell out the Wednesday part of the ground in a lot of the games if we were in the prem, so that is approx 31,000, add in the away fans, which is generally higher as well and I think we would see crowds of between 32 and the 39 capacity most games. We currently have 16k season ticket holder I believe, I could see that easily rising to 22k in the prem if not more, and the longer we stay in the more it will rise.

Arsenal were indeed averaging in the mid to high 20s back before the prem took off, and that was in a stadium that held 40k but the prem is a different beast now to what it was since we were last there. Most grounds are over 90% full every game, with Villa having the worst percentage at 75%. We would pick up fans from places we didn't know we had them and as above the away support will be a lot bigger for most games.

Well I am predicting over 25k, suppose it depends how many Bolton bring!!

By your math here we would be right on a 30k average, particularly when you add another full house in Man City. We won't be topping 40k antime soon though as the current capacity is 39,812 and the crows nest would be left empty for virtually all games, so that brings it down to 38,500 at most.
