Nicola Sturgeon finally begins the process of separation!
I'll disagree with that view re weeks of prior knowledge of the allegations as I can still vividly recall the FM's initial reaction in parliament on the day that the news broke of this revelation - she didn't come over as someone who knew all about these allegations at all, in fact just the opposite; her clear shock and disbelief of the event was tantamount. It is all speculative stuff and my own view, for what it's worth, is that she may well have been aware of the rumours re Salmond's sleazy behaviour. I've previously commented re my prior knowledge of Ecky's womanizing behaviour through a friend of my sister who did some personal image work for him and quickly broke off the service after what she regarded to be "unacceptable behaviour from a married man". I was aware of this issue about 15-20 years ago. Hence my belief that the FM may well have been aware of the rumours. One could possibly go even further and speculate that he may have previously made personal advances towards Nicola and told to f### off - nothing more said on the matter as it would potentially be a political bombshell. All speculative stuff but you never know eh! That hypothetical scenario could also explain Peter Murrell's personal dislike of Salmond!
Lastly note Salmond didn't ask for the FM's resignation but demanded that Leslie Evans should resign. Isn't that curious?? Again this interactive wall between civil service officials and the Scot govt being mentioned and a judicial review that was recommended not to be followed but carried on regardless at a cost to the tax payer of about £500M!!Thumb down My ideal scenario would be someone "coming clean" and exposing a Brit govt involvement/conspiracy in this shit as previously suggested by Bouncinghibees! Again this is speculative stuff but still possible and BOYYYYY would I pay a lot to see that political "nuclear bombshell" being dropped on Johnson and other Brit govt arses as it would literally guarantee an unstoppable onslaught towards Scotindy!

So far it's 'she said, he said', for me after watching Salmond this is more about his ego than anything else, didn't really provide any evidence it was just his word, in fact ithink he was pretty disappointing.

Media are like locusts, Union driven drivel, today the BBC reported that Salmond demanded Nicola Sturgeon resign when in fact he never actually said that, BBC have 'corrected' and apologised for Sarah Smiths deliberate nonsense.

This committee has been a a complete joke from day 1. Say what you like about Salmond but he was head and shoulders above them yesterday and left with an absolute grenade in the room by asking them to serve the Scotland act on his solicitors to get the full court documents and record of diligence released.

He didn't call for sturgeon to go as bounce points out - but it sounded like he wants Wolfe, Murrell and Evans to be binned as the price to 'move on'. That seems entirely fair enough after the complete mess they have made of this.

1- if they request the documents the truth comes out and this unsavoury matter is finally closed.
2- if they don't request the documents the inquiry has been deliberately stopped.

Whats it to be ?

That is not the action of someone who is afraid of the truth coming out.

So the bbc Political Editor, Sarah Smith, was "at it again" re more disinformation to the general public and then coming out with her usual apology after "doing the damage". She is one big smirking c### btw when it comes to the SNP bad/SNP govt bad stuff and I can't believe she is still holding this position after the number of apologies and rebukes that she has been hit with by her own employer! So much for the bbc preaching re their impartiality in such reporting.

I had a lot of respect for her late father, but thats more than a couple of times now she's pulled that stunt. Its really despicable, and she knows what she's doing.

It is the deliberate and impudent smirking that really irks me re this woman. It is well up there with the likes of a couple of Tory shitheids, both women as well, Patel and Truss - "serial smirkers" who come out with the most shameless comments and actions and shouldn't be anywhere near the positions that they are in.
Meanwhile I'm observing one of the biggest unionist press/media assaults on Scotland during this weekend with a common theme "across the board" that Salmond says (not!!) and the RW Tory media scumbag "opinion"(?), incl certain bbc political hosts, is that Scotland is not fit to be an independent country????????? They should reflect on their own glaring double standards re far bigger stories/scandals attached to their own Westminster govt paymasters before "flinging mud" in Scotland's direction!!! The Patel bullying scandal/breach of the ministerial code, Hancock's corrupt contract lawbreaking f### up, the Brexit deal f### up, throwing the fishing industry "under a bus", The Cummings' eyesight scandal, a Brit govt that was prepared to break the law re Northern Ireland /Brexit!!!!Thumb down All these colluding RW media people conveniently remaining fairly reticent compared with a sleazy sex harrassment story in Scotland - DESPERATE AS F### AND PILING LOADSA TAXPAYERS' MONEY TO RAIL AGAINST A DEVOLVED GOVT IN SCOTLAND THAT WAS LEGITIMALLY VOTED IN BY THE PEOPLE OF SCOTLAND AND SUPPOSED TO BE AN EQUAL PARTNER WITHIN THE UK. What an affront to the Scot people but this shit was to be expected because these unionist bastards have nowhere else to go!!! Scot Tories and Scot Labour leaderless (Sarwar just finally "given the nod" yesterday to lead the SLP, not exactly a "shining light" either and not in unison with his own leader re issues like Trident and WMDs located on Scottish soil)!!! And DROSS is still a distant Tory MP, a little slimy back stabber alongside a colluding Baroness, who disnae wanna be called Baroness, sitting in his place in a bogus Tory position at Holyrood Thumb down Therefore nothing close to a reputable "government in waiting" gonna take over the Holyrood Parliament any time soon and that is a fact.

To paraphrase a fellow Scot...

Regardless of the relentless British propaganda and collaborated efforts to bring her down, the democratically-elected First Minister of Scotland remains cool, calm and collected under pressure. The rest of us would no doubt have given up if we were attacked as viciously as she is on an hourly basis. Many of us would either have broken down completely by now, or even lashed out.

She's no saint and has never claimed to be. She's just a normal Scottish lassie who makes mistakes like the rest of us.

She's been forced to make extremely difficult decisions for many years, none more so than the last, knowing fine well that the smallest error of judgement will lead to an all out attack by the Britnat establishment. And yet when the likes of Prime Minister Johnson makes monumental mistakes, which the UK press should rightly crucify him for, he's treated in completely the opposite manner. He’s a hero to the Press, and despite 130,000+ Covid deaths, £22billion siphoned away on a failed Test & Trace system, and government ministers widely breaking the law, the Tories are riding high in the English polls.

Nicola Sturgeon may not be perfect. But she's clearly on the ball, honest, sincere, and working hard to keep Scotland safe.

I've not been a fan of every SNP policy over the years, and like in every walk of life, the SNP Party has its fair few tadgers, but I also don't think the disgusting abuse the First Minister faces is in any way warranted.

I stand with Nicola 100%.

Sturgeon's opening statement this morning was excellent, just the right amount of humility, anger and a couple of well placed shots at Salmond's integrity!! She should be buying her speech writers a beer when the pubs open again!!

Attacking Salmond like she's doing throughout isn't a good idea. He avoided that completely. You know if he's so bad why was he such a close friend of yours for 20 odd years ?

No doubt in my mind from the evidence we've seen (and hasn't been redacted or shredded) that she has broken the ministerial code. I mean no one can seriously believe her and her husbands story with a rational mind Laugh The QCs letter yesterday shows the SG has fucked up very badly here.

Also it's clear now after yesterdays evidence that the Aberdein meeting was a SG meeting and would have been minuted, not some casual chit chat in the corridor.

At the very least Evans and Wolffe should be resigning today.

I haven't really been following this at all but do you think this will end in her resigning or will she survive this?
