Nicola Sturgeon finally begins the process of separation!
I believe that London targeted two charismatic leaders of the independence movement with a plot specifically designed to blacken Alex Salmond's reputation and entrap Nicola Sturgeon through her legal obligations to co-operate with Leslie Evans and her processes within the remit of the Civil Service- which takes its orders from London. The real target was Scotland- to demoralise the YES campaign, distract and divide us and keep Scotland as the last colony. Now the truth is creeping out. Don't let them away with it. The names to remember are David Hardie and Leslie Evans. Their anonymous line managers are in London.

Civil Service collusion with Brexit Brit govt scumbags all along eh!! Noted!!! If these allegations do turn out to be true, both these c#### arses (and poss others!!) will be "pinned against an appropriate wall" once they are eventually caught/entrapped in their own little web of deceit and a full blown storm of retribution will follow!! Coupled with the revelation of that little shite of a back-stabbing Tory, Michael Gove, and his insidious Union unit that is already "pumping out" disinformation re Scotindy and anti Scotland revelations - trying to get at "soft targets" within the Scot population just like "Project fear" in 2014!! Thumb down This is real Goebbel's like stuff synonymous with the German Third Reich propaganda shit of the 1930s. A recent example of this bullshit is their boring "project fear" line of "too wee and too poor to make it": after a suddenly presented LSE Paper from two students, Gove intimated an indy Scotland would be much poorer even compared to the poor effect of Brexit. As it happens, both authors never made that claim - they only reported their apocalyptic predictions on trade only, speculating on a generation later and guesstimating growth levels. They also uttered caution re their predictions as the report was bereft of the necessary data to make a coherent case. Also is it mere coincidence that this LSE unit housing these particular students is chaired by a guy called Sir Nick Macpherson, the treasury adviser who was "wheeled out" in 2014, Scot referendum year, against all civil service custom and practice, to aid the Tory camp? A top class, posh spoken scumbag with an agenda! Also thanks was given in this paper to another Tory scumbag, a Prof Jim Gallagher, Better Together's go to Dr No. THAT PARTICULAR PAPER WAS QUICKLY DECONSTRUCTED BY VARIOUS ECONOMIC EXPERTS IN SCOTLAND and Gove told to GTF!!

I'm looking at the details of an FOI request into the Brit govt's sinister Union Unit that is questionably being funded with taxpayers' money but is clearly funding an anti Scotindy campaign? They are spending hundreds of thousands of pounds on new staff for this unit while claiming there is no panic within Downing Street re a consistent "swing" of public opinion favouring self-determination in Scotland. The annual salaries for this dodgy unionist propaganda machine are astounding:- The head of this unit earning £110k-£114k pa, £57k-£80k for a special adviser plus undisclosed amounts for two additional policy advisers, an estimated £280k apportioned to "at least" 4 x "heads of role" posts in Gove's Union Directorate, incl heads of comms, policy, analysis etc at a salary of £64.5k-£70.877k. Add this to soaring Scotland Office expenditure currently £8.5M - all highly questionable costs at a time when money is tight and also doing this during a pandemic????????? IMO the most interesting thing about this sinister Union Unit is if it was the Scot govt retrospectively doing the same thing in funding an Independence Unit we'd have howls of protests from the Conservatives, absolutely no doubt about it! All this effort that has been put into fighting against a referendum campaign that they say is never gonna happen - IT'S A BIT ODD THAT EH!! What I wanna see is an investigation into their tax-funded activities, against a sitting devolved govt, preceding a Scottish election and draft an issue of complaint to the Electoral Commission.

If there isn't another referendum by 2024 I expect we will be stuck. Holyrood will be sidelined then relegated to county council levels and the tories will win again down south.

It'll be much sooner than that Jim - I'm 100% certain on that score although the majority of the Scottish population must back it all the way. If by some miracle that is not the case then Scotland really deserves that book title, "The Tragedy of Scotland" or as the Irish writer, George Monbiot, described it in 2014 preceding the Scot referendum result: "It will be an astonishing act of self-repudiation and self-harm for Scotland to vote no"! Absolutely right and the damage up to now has been insufferable!

The Union is bust, Unions end all over the world, independence is normal, sadly some people are very ill informed and would keep the country back in this third world nonsense Union of supposed equals.

May I just add that the 1707 Treaty of Union between Scotland and England was an agreement between two separate countries, NOT an annexation of one by the other. Any one of the two countries can redeem said treaty if they deem it unsuitable for them to continue with it. This premise applies to both countries equally and not as being implied in the extreme narrative that regularly emanates from unionists in Westminster.

Salmond pulls out again, a man with such a big ego making a mockery of things, has done any reputation he had left, Unionists have been holding onto this and baying for blood for weeks, the funniest part though is they are left scratching there heads as intentions in polling shows support for the SNP is up.

It's all about Alex being in control and he's playing the victim card for all it's worth. The fact that it's making a mockery of the whole system is neither here nor there as far as he's concerned.

I wouldn't be attending in these circumstances either. Looks like a total stitch up.

I've read through all the Salmond evidence and I'm really struggling to see where the supposed danger of jigsaw identification is coming from, it just isn't there. Lots of mentions of Nicolas meeting with Aberdein (the one she forgot about) thats what this is really about. As I've said before I don't buy nicola and her husbands story one iota. I reckon sturgeon knew about the allegations weeks before she told parliament.

Which of course should be a resigning matter.

Little doubt Salmond is a bit of a sleaze but he has been treated appallingly here, and could have ended up in prison on charges that looked like they were 'cooked up' with retrospective rule changes clearly designed to target him.
