Nicola Sturgeon finally begins the process of separation!
Apparently also having infighting with a big chunk of their own membership and union members who favour Scotindy and want them to change their stance on this issue once and for all or lose even more of their members who have just about had enough of being continually patronised re an issue that is becoming accepted in communities all over Scotland and the Scotindy movement is not even seriously campaigning yet due to COVID obligations/restrictions.

It's madness, I mean the whole political landscape is dominated by one question and the Labour Party are hellbent on ignoring it. Starmer has made a huge error chucking it back into the hands of Sarwar and Murray. They are disliked by most of the labour membership Laugh

Additionally Leonard apparently promised a "safe seat" in the May Scottish general election. This is normally reserved for SLP leaders and this decision (by Starmer?) has clearly pissed off a good number of senior officials of the SLP up here - no f###### wonder!!
I listened to a political commentator on the bbc a couple of days ago and he commented re Trump's denigrated position that he was "completely untethered from observable reality". That comment could be equally directed towards the Unionists in Scotland. With the fall of Trump, the Johnson administration and their backers, those shadows that reside out of view have lost their mentor, their demigod, their fulcrum. They will look around in the coming days and see a very changed world because it has changed for them and, as all populist leaders and their supporters have found, their populist conspiracy is a "busted flush" and once the bubble of their smokescreen is burst they are left with nothing.
The panic in them can be measured by the increase in sponsored fake news feeds on social media sites, the call to cancel the May Scottish gen election and the voice as one from those leaders in that foreign capital, London, to deny us our legitimate, democratic desire. Interesting days ahead as the bastion of populist politics collapses and their supporters "scuttle under rocks". Up here in Scotland all I can say is, "Stay focused folks, our future is bright, independence is right"!

Sticking to the Labour Party theme of conversation, I recently listened to the Labour MP for Norwich South, Clive Lewis, when he said to his bbc interviewer re Scotindy, "It now seems increasingly clear the Scottish people have two clear choices before them: 1. Union with a declining imperial power, ruled by hard-right, neoliberal English nationalists or 2. Vote for Scottish independence and look to rejoin the EU, an emerging power with democratic institutions gaining in power, not receding".
I respect the fact there are differences of opinion on the EU within the indy movement, but that general message is valuable. The potential of his statement to influence the minds of the "undecided" and "soft no" voters is IMO massive. The fact it was made by an English Labour politician increases that potential and the outraged response from the Britnat press and Unionist politicians like Ian Murray increases that potential even more. It's a gift - IMO LETS PUT IT ON VARIOUS BILLBOARDS DISPLAYED ACROSS THE COUNTRY or post informative leaflets to citizens throughout Scotland.

I remember listening to Lewis during his labour leadership campaign and thinking this guy doesn't have a hope in hell of winning.....but he understands the serious issues the country faces a lot better than the others. And maybe because he had no chance he could speak quite honestly about how he saw it.

He should be in the shadow cabinet in my opinion.

Last week a Scot Conservative flyer was slipped through my letterbox and before going through my normal ritual of ripping up their usual printed garbage/unionist propaganda, I noticed their three nebulous facts about being the only party who can beat the SNP - what a f###### nerve right away because they havenae got a scooby of a chance, just go back over 60 years of dismissal by any Scot electorate!! There was also no mention of any achievements because there are none (shows how scared they are of a competent govt!)
Here are some facts they chose not to reveal:-
FACT - there is no such thing as Scot Conservatives as there exists a branch office of the Westminster Tories that is totally subservient to the Westminster govt.
FACT - Tory MPs from Scotland declared support for extending the £20 uplift to Universal Credit. Then abstained from voting for it!!Thumb down
FACT - Tory MPs from Scotland voted against the Scot govt receiving their fair share of the Euro Infrastructure Fund being retained by the UK. When the fund was managed by the EC it benefited Scotland and the other devolved administrations who had direct access to it.
FACT - Tories in Scotland dismiss the 19 consecutive opinion polls showing that Scottish people want to be independent of Westminster but are afraid to hold a referendum to establish the facts.
FACT - in 2014 the Scottish people were told by a Tory PM that the only way Scotland could remain in the EU would be to vote to stay in the UK and reject Scotindy. Shortly after that, the Tory party and backers spent huge sums of money to leave the EU and drag Scotland out against the majority will of its people.
FACT - Tory head office is setting up a "dirty tricks" department in Edinburgh to spread false news and bypass devolved matters in an attempt to discredit the Scot govt, a govt that the Scot people voted for - have they appointed Steve Bannon yet????
It's an insult to think that the Scottish people will be fooled by this as well as contemptuously watching the Tory PM, Johnson, violating his own national message re COVID travel bans and visiting Scotland tomorrow - DOHHHHHH!!!

So the rule-breaking Brit PM arrived in Scotland this morning and vilified from various groups within Scot society and the Scot govt itself. Then "playing politics" after being given the obliging "media platform" by the bbc and spouting off his usual bullshit about a Union that everyone knows (incl him!!) is permanently fractured due to his C&U party's extreme politics!! The man is an embarrassment and totally oblivious to what is happening in Scotland or choosing to contemptuously ignore it. I just wonder how many millions of Scots screamed at the tv when the c### impudently used his usual reference to the "once in a generation line" and smirking with it!! How to win friends - NOT IN SCOTLAND YA OLD ETONIAN TWAT!!!! I also notice the first calls in England for his resignation - a clown and a disaster of a PM fully exposed by COVID-19!! IMO he should be put in prison like Trump, another horrible political leader who totally deserted his millions n millions of citizens during a pandemic crisis and similarly culpable!!Thumb down Indeed watch the bbc Documentary, "The Trump Show, Downfall" and compare with the Obama Netflix film, "The Final Year"! What struck me was the blatant violation of COVID social distance and other rules by a bunch of Trump elitist shit heids but lots more to be enlightened with in this bbc film - a US demagogue being defeated but effectively "cannae take it on the chin" - should be imprisoned together with Johnson and send out a chilling message to the world that these people are nothing more than low-life criminals and frauds!!

Did you expect him to say anything other than that?? He is right in one sense that I think even you agree with in that Covid is a more pressing matter but after that he said basically what I would expect to hear from him on the subject of independence, he might be a clown, but he is still a political clown!!

His trip to Scotland reminded me of bruce willis's trip to Harlem in one of the die hard films. Just not as funny.

The Conservatives seem to have tremendous difficulty getting their message of unity across in places they openly and happily denigrate elsewhere. It's a mystery isnt it ?

I also notice the esteemed Labour leader, SKS, defended Johnson's "legitimate" trip to Scotland????? Talk about being totally "out of step" with Scottish opinion and the wishes of the Scot people!!!Thumb down I guess that response tells us again why the Labour Party is dead in Scotland. It would be difficult to tell the difference between the red and blue Tories. The arrogance and sense of self-entitlement displayed by the Tories and Johnson, ignoring laws and safety protocols during a global pandemic, is astounding. The fact Starmer backs them says a lot about Labour at this time! Indeed IMO showing his "true colours"!! Blue Labour, just like that North Briton named Gordon Brown, or Blue Brown the Fife quisling as he should be known. Also I perceive the Unionist-Westminsterites are "coming out of their burrows" and "electioneering". I expect Lord Foulkes to waken up out of his dwam and complain lol!! Laugh Never has such a rag tag of political chancers appeared as this "manure heap" at Westminster. ALL FALLING OVER THEMSELVES BUT TOO LATE FIR ANY EFFECT!!
I also noticed the Tories lost on the Holyrood vote to scrap another independence referendum!Thumb up IMO they are sweating now......coming up with more and more bizarre statements about supporting democracy by not letting the Scottish people vote on independence - SHAMELESS PEOPLE!!
