This week saw the European Junior Curling Challenge being played, where the 2 winning teams qualify for the World Championships to be held in Tallin, Estonia from 28 February to 8 March.
In the Womens event, the England team of Hetty Garnier (skip), Angharad Ward (third), Naomi Robinson (second) and Lucy Sparks (lead) supported by Niamh Fenton (alternate) won by demolishing Turkey 9-1 in the final after only 6 ends. They had won their section comfortably, winning 8 games and losing 1.

The English Mens team fared less well, winning only 2 of their 5 Section games, thereby failing to qualify for the later stages. Russia won the event.
