This was effectively a Europa League match in which a Celtic B team played a Lille B team but this vastly changed Hoops' side actually played reasonably well v decent opponents - lotsa young players and fringe players looking "hungry" to play and impress! I expected Neil Lennon to finally do this and previously commented that he should've done the same a week ago v AC Milan to rest players and focus on important league matches. However, two needless goals lost again and that will be a disappointment for Lennon and also for Calum McGregor who looked like a "real doughnut" in needlessly giving the ball away to Lille players who duly obliged to score a quick-break first goal to equalise. But he showed some "bottle" by insisting that he would take the pen kick to ensure Celtic restored their one goal lead and duly converted the kick. It is still a Celtic victory and some positivity re the manner of this win and the way that it was managed esp towards the end of the game.
