No doubt, the Lewis Baker lad looks like he'll be a good signing imo. Apparently his dad's a Wednesdayite so its possible that influenced his decision.

Huge difference between our U21's and Cheski's obviously. But it is nice to know are kids aren't doing badly whether they'll ever feature or not. Some of the kids have been in the periphery of the First team. It would be nice to think we can produce a few kids like Palmer whom broke their way through.

Im not sure if I like the idea of selling Dielna tbh

I think this is potentially a good signing. For starters the fact that Chelsea have him under contract until 2019 shows what belief they have in him and as MS says he is playing against the best U21 players in the country and internationally for England. The other thing I like is that this is a season long loan, not a 30 day one like most others have been, that should give him time to settle and hopefully show what he is capable of. This kid will be very eager to impress The Special One as well as put his name out there, that can only be good for us!!

He'd only be spending 4 months in the EPL if he was to go to WBA Doh

he's better off staying with us for our late surge to automatic promotion and then staying in the EPL for a season Whistle

Quite like the 'Ted' Baker signing Thumb up he'll be useful when the handbags are out Laugh I'll get me coat Doh

Cool

Dielna has been one of the pleasant surprises this season. He has played at CB, LB & CM and looked quality in every position.

In many ways we would miss him less than Lees or Westwood because he hasn't been a regular starter but I suspect that he is the one whose value will increase over the next year so maybe we should hold off for a while. It makes most financial sense to sell Westwood of the three because his value will diminish to zero over the next 18 months. The footballing impact of losing him is significant because he has been brilliant for us but Kirkland is still better than most SBC keepers and £2m would help us strengthen in other areas that could earn us more points.

Another factor is that Westwood has only missed two games for us this season through injury. A lot of clubs steered clear of him because of his terrible injury record but maybe now is the one chance to get decent money for him.

Isn't our problem here largely down to SG's stubbornness with 442.

Mattock isn't a problem. Full backs are the least important position in most promotion sides & we know Mattock can do it because he did it with West Brom. I almost feel Dielna is wasted at LB. Ideally, we would play 352 with Dielna alongside Loovens & Lees with Palmer & Helan as wide players or Dielna to replace Loovens eventually as a CB.

The other solution is 433 but this makes May less effective.

Personally I think we can talk about different formations until we are blue in the face while SG is in charge!!! Its very frustrating watching the likes of Maghoma out of position and not effective just to stick to a formation, even McGugan was somewhat stifled in our rigid 442 and you have to wonder how much getting forward Baker will be able to do in it as well. All three of these players would be much more effective playing in a three man midfield with Semedo and Lee, rather than the two man version we see most games!!

Helan is better at LB but I'm happy for him to stay LM for the time being
Removed until we're actually on our way back  Doh

Apparently Lewis Mcgugan isn't in Watfords plans and free to leave..

Looks like Gary Gardner will play against us for the Tree's too.

I think McGugan is still under contract so I would assume they would still want a fee for him if he were to leave, that unfortunately rules us out!!

Shit, another ex-player who will likely have a blinder against us!!!!

Well we have 2 home games coming up against Bolton, who are shite, and Brum who will have played in the cup a few days before.

We should really win both those games Thumb up and then we have Reading away on the 31st which is also a winnable game. If we did get 9pts from these games then surely MM will invest and push for promotion (the window closes on the 3rd of Feb) Huh

As people have said before, this season is a golden opportunity for promotion Thumb up even if we come straight back down the parachute payments will keep us in clover Thumb up

Come on MM, put some flucking money in Angry
