Scotland v Czechoslovakia, Wed 14 October, KO 7.45pm

Another new challenge for Steve Clarke and his players with, no doubt, further changes to personnel due to the demanding number of fixtures played during such a short period. Robertson is suspended due to a piece of needless petulance that resulted in another yellow card being issued to him. Who comes in at LB without Tierney being available? Cooper is out injured. Therefore Andrew Considine prob asked to do another stint alongside Gallagher or Clarke gives Ryan Porteous a Scotland debut. Will he try to refresh the mid formation but try to hold the same solid "shape"? Also up front will he use "two up top" v a dangerous Czech side? A win would definitely be a godsend but it will be tough.

Hanlon just had a minor injury that was rested v lesser opposition like Cove Rangers. Note Hibs/Jack Ross down on 10 players for the match v Forfar while Doig's quarantine lifted after further investigation by the SFA re Billy Stark's (infected U19 coach) movements around the Scotland U19 players.

FT 1-0 Scotland and 3 x victories in ten days!! Top of the group, another "clean sheet" v slick opposition that has previously beaten England, and 8 x consecutive matches unbeaten. Gallagher immense again and the Dykes-Fraser strike partnership delivers another goal well-taken by the wee man although the game was not a great "watch" but what is new eh. Scotland's shape solid again and "battling for every ball" - a Clarke team definitely "taking shape" and making itself "difficult to beat"!! Israel's win away to Slovakia is an added bonus as Scotland top this group by 10 pts, 4 pts ahead of the Czechs who we don't play again AND there is a great opp to grab a play-off place for the World Cup in Quatar - I'll take it!!! Thumb up

So they haven't beaten us since 1994! Another great record for the Scots. Whistle

Anyway, we've beaten the Czechs twice and the Slovaks once in the group, so the 9 points are good enough for me. Thumb up
