Nicola Sturgeon finally begins the process of separation!
Add in the fact that Ferrier was a vocal critic of BJ, calling for Cummings' to be removed. Quite right too in my opinion, but she has shown staggering hypocrisy in trying to hold on to her job. No doubt the big salary is a major factor, as 0762 suggests.

Sturgeon originally tried to hold on to Calderwood too and it was only when public pressure kicked in did she get the bullet. But Ferrier is really taking the piss. She had the symptoms and travelled to London, as well as attending a gym and beauty salon, then travelled home with a positive test. There is no excuse for that - what kind of a person would do that ? Its xxxx mind boggling when we are all going through sacrifices at home. I just can't fathom what she was thinking of.

The fact she hasn't had the decency to stand down really tells you everything about this character. Im absolutely furious about it, for months I've watched my family suffer and my kids mental health affected from the sacrifice of lockdowns and she does that ??? Not xxxx on.

Also looks like the SNP whip knew on Wednesday, so why wasn't it til Thursday night this all came out ? xxxx stinks.

Not wanting to defend what Cummins did, he is not an elected official, he is a paid employee and as Jim said he wasn't positive with the virus. There is no way an elected official of any party can survive what she did.

There are apparently various support staff attached to Ferrier's MP post and these people would lose their jobs with no redundancy attached to the loss either - an issue that she may well be considering if she "steps down". However, I still think the loss of such a big £70k+ salary is the main factor in her remaining in situ. IMO she can be added to that list of offending MPs/Lords who span back decades - identified as criminals, sex offenders, brazenly claiming huge amounts of money for moat maintenance, fraud etc and yet "clinging on" to their highly paid jobs for dear life. The use of the words "Honourable Member" at Westminster are well and truly "blown away" although one could apply the same criticism of most of the current Tory/Brexit Cabinet members!! Picture yourself in Ferrier's position with financial commitments attached to her generous annual salary - resign and lose the money/job during such a current period of crisis and job losses and one can perceive the motives behind a reluctance to forfeit the post.

So Douglas Ross finally realised that Westminster disnae "give a monkey's toss" about Scotland or the democratic right and interest of the Scottish people!!? BETTER LATE THAN NEVER AS MOST SAVVY SCOTS UP HERE HAVE KNOWN THIS FOR A VERY LONG TIME INDEED!! But at long last he has admitted the contemptuous disregard for Scotland and the so called threat to their preciousssss union as support for Scotindy is apparently increasing even more and no f###### wonder as it becomes more n more apparent that an equal partnership is and always was a myth!! What a huge own goal by Ross anyway and "forcing Johnson's hand" in having to falsely hail the union in such an unimpressive fashion with many observing Scots absolutely mocking them and their lack of any kinda sincerity/respect while they continue to play the game of dirty tricks against Scot govt interests. I can't hide my delight in watching this latest "crack" appearing in Tory ranks when it comes to this contemptuous shit.

Looks like we are heading into a 'circuit break' in Scotland come Friday evening. Whatever that means.

I just honestly can't see the point of prolonging another lockdown in all but name.

Aye although listening to the FM's recent comments on the subject reveals that a diluted form of lockdown may be applied but it very much depends on daily infections leading up to the October school hols. I wish to f### they would start dropping but they don't appear to be receding as desired. The biggest offending Scot locations are as I expected TBF - Glasgow and certain west of Scotland locations. So why not identify the worst areas and apply lockdown measures accordingly as it is not a consistent picture of infection across the country?

So it transpires that Typhoid Mary also went to Mass the day after taking her Covid test, and gave a five-minute reading to a congregation of whom three-quarters were elderly. At this point we really are just counting the days till it comes out that she toured all the local care homes and snogged the residents.

A truly repulsive individual.
