Celtic 1 Ferencvaros 2 - a "shock of shocks"!!

...Celtic eliminated so early in the Champs League and a huge loss of revenue for the Hoops! I thought there was a potential shock tonight as soon as I heard the bad news that Edouard was out with a leg injury. Lots of scoring chances created by Celtic and only one goal scored while crucially giving away their winning goal due to a defensive mistake by Elhamed - a huge error at a critical point of the match. Ultimately too many scoring opps scorned on the night esp when Celtic eventually outplaying this Hungarian side - gotta take their scoring chances I'm afraid and didn't do it!

A sore one for them. They only really got to grips with the game after half time then they got level, hit the bar and had what looked a good goal ruled out. Then they just fell away again, the winning goal was just an embarrassment to lose really.

The EPL were always coming for Edouard and they may well have made their move. Lawwell will do his usual trick and sell him to cut their losses/rebuild.

I also think that Lenny/Celtic must "get to grips" with the Griffiths situation. There is definitely an issue here! IMO Sparky would've thrived in this match of so many scoring opps but not been truly active as a squad player for weeks, if not months!!

According to Lennon he came back in no condition to take part in pre-season, and is now injured. It sounded like Lennon is pretty pissed off with him.

Lennon has gone much further than the Griffiths issue in today's comments - telling players who don't wanna seriously play for Celtic to leave/GTF. I expected this reaction at some point and he has duly obliged.

Looks like Ntcham and Ajer have both asked to leave.

I think man utd lost to them back in the 90s.

Was it the game where Schmeichel scored?

No. The last time Man Utd played Ferencvaros was in 1965 when they were eliminated from the old Fairs Cup in a two leg affair.

Rotor Volgograd in 1997, Schmeichel scored.
