WBA Transfer Window: (Summer 2015) Starting early..
I know it's only the Daily Star but, they are suggesting that Tony Pulis will be given up to £30M to buy players in January.
Presumably that will include any monies from sale of players leaving us.

Can't see it myself, not unless JP has started using Ecstasy.
Some days I'm top dog, most days I'm just the lamp post.
Stathemwasthebestever, I agree about on-field leadership. We have McAuley and Lescott who are leaders but after that there isn't many. We could possibly do with a Paul Scharner type figure in the midfield. Would anyone class Mulumbu as a leader now he is older and more experienced?

A Roy Keane type of player in terms of play style is Tomas Pina from Villarreal in Spain. I'm not sure about his leadership qualities though.
Silverbaggie, if Peace is prepared to give Tony £30 million then he really has learned his lessons from previous years. Frees and loans are good but sometimes a bit of money is needed to get that extra bit of quality.

Maybe Burton has spiked Peace's tea with whisky again.

Correct to part one, and I could not possibly answer the 2nd thought. Big Grin
Dodgy Website but the contract situation seems a bit of a worry though!

Aston Villa are ready to to move for West Brom starlet Adil Nabi, Goal understands.

The 20-year-old striker is on the fringes of the first team at the Hawthorns although talks over a new contract have stalled after the Baggies initially began discussions back in October.

Paul Lambert's side are one of a number of clubs to have been following Nabi's progress, with the former England youth international having caught the eye after scoring a hat-trick in a recent Under-21s fixture against Villa.

Nabi's current deal expires at the end of the season and, although the Baggies do have a one-year option, they would prefer to tie him down to a long-term contract.

Villa are hopeful of tempting Nabi away from the Hawthorns, however, while West Brom are also set to face a fight to retain star striker Saido Berahino, who has reportedly been attracting the attention of Liverpool.
When we beat Wolves 5-1 I said Steven Fletcher was the only player of theirs I'd take. Good in the air and with decent feet, I think he'd certainly do well on the number of chances we produce, but we've got Berahino now, who seems far more clinical although not great in the air.
Steven Fletcher is a very good striker, and I would be happy with a swap for Ideye although I really wanted him to do well. I don't think either player is worth what both clubs paid for them (Fletcher 13m and Ideye 10m) but I think Fletcher is definitely the better of the 2 albeit older but he would score goals.

Lets hope Ideye gets a chance in the next 2 games and gets a couple of goals to get his confidence up, then I think we will see the real Brown Ideye.

Will the real Brown Ideye step forwards.... Huh

Gomis looked like a player at the weekend. Wouldn't mind seeing him in an Albion shirt.
Nowt to do with us and transfers but I see that Ben Arfa has just gone to Nice after a loan spell with Hull was cancelled and he was told 'no way back' at Newcastle.
Anybody know why? I always thought he was an absolute class act and rated him very, very highly. What went wrong?
Inconsistency, injuries and (guess) being a bit of a dick.

Lazy, got 'fat', bad attitude. Fell out with Pardew and Bruce. Saw someone mention that stepovers on the halfway line and 2 hard shots a season is not enough - I agree, would have taken him last summer but I don't think we will see him in England again.

Moses - As for Gomis, his goals to game record over his career is very similar to Ideye and has 'flopped' at Swansea just as much as Ideye has at Albion, he is also 3/4 years older.
