The Premier League is awash with money so we should hold out for as much as possible if we are selling anyone!! Swansea paid 1.75m for a 19 year old from Exeter yesterday, we should be demanding at least 4m for Westwood!!

My point exactly SCO.

It was insulting that Forest offered 2M for Antonio when they dropped 5M on Asombalonga easy.

2m is probably what it costs to pay the Liverpool reserve team, one weeks wages.. These offers need to be doubled or they can eff off!

Both the rumours regarding Westwood & Lees are the opening salvos in a possible transfer saga.

Usually, someone is testing the water. It could be Liverpool/Hull, Wednesday or the player's agent but it works better for us price wise if it goes this way rather than like the Antonio transfer where we offer him up to one club at a price. At least here, we start an auction.

We need someone to come out next week & say that Liverpool's offer of £2m is derisory as Liverpool paid £9m for Mingolet and Westwood is a better keeper than him. We won't get £9m because of Westwood's age but it ups the benchmark price for Westwood up to £4 - 5m. All we need then is for another club to get involved and we get a decent price.

Lees appears to be more speculative. Westwood is an easy cash in for us because we know his value drops to zero in 18 months. Lees has greater real value over the long term but any decision to sell depends on the price we might get. Again, an auction suits us but Hull might be prepared to give us £2m plus Harry Maguire, which gives us money plus a ready made replacement.

Say we get a combined £7m plus Maguire. Even if MM takes £3m to cover debts, we are well placed in invest seriously next summer to make an assault on promotion next season.

Everyone apart from the top handful of clubs is a selling club now, the key is getting the best price to re-build. To get £7m plus Maguire for two players we picked up for free last summer surely has to be good business.

The whole team could be sold for me if we got the right price so we could buy suitable replacements.

Westwood and Lees for £7m plus players would be an excellent bit of business

So much depends on our plan for next season. Dielna has looked promising but if we get rid of Mattock, we will have to bring someone else in for cover as Dielna is our only CB cover for Lees & Loovens.

Kirkland staying depends on what happens with Westwood. If Westwood goes then we probably need Kirkland for one or two more seasons until Dawson is ready.

Lee has been terrible this season & today was his first acceptable performance. I would want to see him have some decent league performances before I offer him a new contract.

agree with MS about Lee, he just isn't up to the standards he set last season. Still time for him to turn things round and today was a start in the right direction

I actually thought Semedo was better than Lee today!! He anchored the midfield superbly and kept Toure quiet for most of the game!! Lee had a decent game but not a MOM performance for me. Lee is still not up to the standard he played last season but with a consistent run in the team he may be able to regain that level of performance.

As for LB, I would resign Mattock and keep Dielna as he can obviously cover both LB and CH. The great thing about Dielna playing when Mattock is out is it allows SG to keep Helan on the wing where he seeems to play his best football.

I never played any level of football, was crap at it from an early age.  Played in goal a bit but not to any standard.  Still thought Semedo was better, but what would football be like of we all agreed!!!!Thumb up
