BUT Wait, what's this?  Doh About 35k of these weren't actually carried out, they were posted out for home testing at some time in the near future and sent to satellite testing centres for use sometime in the near future. As can be seen in many instances, you can't trust the Tory Government to give us the true position and it goes to show you can make figures mean virtually anything you want.

And don't be surprised if they count them again when they are returned for lab testing.  Whistle

Canada has so far recorded a squirt over 3000 deaths - https://www.google.com/search?q=coronovi...e&ie=UTF-8

Hey Boris, if you want a Canada deal with the EU, why haven't you checked in with the, er Liberal, Canadian Government how a country with half our population has about 10% or maybe less of our deaths you murdering bastard? They've a bit more room to move around in? Well take a really good look at how many high rise buildings there are in a city like Toronto (pop ~ -6-7 million greater Toronto area) v London (pop ~ 9-10 million). Far more of the high rise stuff recently built in downtown and central Toronto, having lived in TO (and visited both cities regularly over the last 25 years).

Deaths in Toronto? - can't find it on a quick Google search but there are 1900 recorded across the whole of Ontario in recent reports. Toronto is by far the most populous city in a Province close to the size of a big chunk of Europe with maybe a bit to spare. Link

Deaths in London alone? The total number of reported deaths in London hospitals of patients who tested positive for COVID-19 is now 5,047, across our country it is now heading rapidly towards 30,000, in Canada it's racing towards, er 3,000. We more or less started on the same footing.

Difference?

A Government that gets off it's arse and does something positive at the first sign of a problem perhaps compared to one where it's PM goes on holiday for two weeks as soon as he's done a weeks work or what ever Boris thinks is a weeks work? When he's not on holiday he takes as much notice of the 'Vital Update from The Government' letter as anyone else in Downing Street (i.e. none) and infects himself and everyone else around him with the virus. Prat. He's still not fit for work, then again it's debatable if he ever was.

As for 100,000 tests per day? You clowns still aren't testing everyone in the NHS that needs testing, or getting the PPE deliveries sorted properly. You eventually realised you needed 4 planes for that Turkish delivery of PPE (that lasted about a week) rather than 1.

60,000 actual tests and 40,000 in the back of UPS or other vans (my god UPS are shit at delivering recently too) is STILL not 100,000 tests per day.

The Tory govt has been responsible for ignoring warnings about the need to prepare for pandemics, has run down the health service and imposed austerity as a political choice. The claim, "We are guided by the science" is a "smokescreen" to cover their damaging ideologue and thousands of citizens have "paid the price". There was a recent FT report that slammed into the Brit govt's catalogue of errors and sluggishness in tackling this crisis and their feared projection of eventual deaths is an alarming 100k!!!? I pray the FT is "way off the mark" in the final analysis of this pandemic.

Quelle surprise. Testing dips back below 100k at the weekend. Well, everyone is at home, including the delivery drivers who have Ooooh, 40000 kits in their vans, or have checked them back into HQ. Good luck with getting them back out again if someone clicked delivered by mistake. It happens, big time it happens. We've got a delivery stuck in UPS hyperspace from 2 months ago.

So the Government has suddenly discovered this wizard new idea called Track and Trace. Something they started doing when the virus first showed it's teeth on these shores but promptly gave up on because Boris and his merry men suddenly thought that letting 'the herd' i.e. all of us, cop for it and the survival of the fittest was an even more wizard idea. Until half of Downing Street suddenly copped for the virus before the herd had mostly started coughing, then they went on a big smoke screen laying jaunt, trying to tell us, "nothing to see here". That and ordering 4 plane loads of PPE and only sending one to go and get it from Turkey. The rest of it is likely still in a warehouse somewhere that is nowhere near a hospital.

So all it needs is a significant number of people (way more than half of us) to download a big brother app so they tell where you are and where you've been and when this is all over, you'll forget to take it off your phone so they can continue to track and trace you.

Funny, but Android phones and iPhones already have this kind of app thing built into them anyway. I deactivated mine over Christmas as I was fed up of being told where I'd been and what great pubs and restaurants I'd managed to avoid and that I should visit next time I'm oop Nooerth for a home game or in foreign parts for a holiday. Our Government being what they are, we're obviously now paying someone else big bucks to invent a new one, or re-purpose the one that South Korea used so that it sends info out in English (of some description) rather than Korean. If you read the info on eBay that our friends in the Covid-19 capitals of the Far East write, you'll get an idea of the standard of English it will likely have in it.

My wonderful inbuilt location tracker tells me I'm either resident in Tranent or Dunfermline (probably depends on the way the wind is blowing). Totally wrong of course, but at least they're in Scotland, which is near enough for the app.

So the NHS App is being created by the same people who were associated with the Cambridge Analytica.

The problem with the App is what percentage of the population have a smart or android phone? and the other problem is to use it you would have to keep your phone unlocked and keep it on at all times and switch Bluetooth on and keep it running on your phone all the time for the phones to detect each other. You then have the problem of iOS and Android which won't allow applications to broadcast it's ID via Bluetooth to surrounding devices when it's running in the background and not in active use.

The whole thing is going to be a flop and sounds more like data harvesting.
