Johnson watch activated - the nightmare begins for the UK!!
I totally share these sentiments and would add that this Brexit govt has not been challenged or scrutinised enough by the majority of the press that they still have control over or the likes of the BBC who I disregarded a long time ago when I mockingly altered their name title to the EBC, the English Broadcasting Corporation.
Re testing eg, we simply couldn't carry out mass testing and tracing as part of an early strategy. So the scientists had to rule that out!! The Tory/Brexit govt has been responsible for ignoring warnings about the need to prepare for pandemics, has "run down" the health service and imposed austerity as a political choice and their claim that "we are guided by the science" is a "smokescreen" to cover their damaging ideologue and thousands of citizens have consequently "paid the price". Lastly, re the PPE debacle one can refer to the PUWER 1998 regs that stipulate it is a criminal offence to fail to supply sufficient and adequate protective equipment to workers. Why has this never been mentioned by any of the health worker unions????

I think the UN rapporteur's cutting remarks re a Tory political ideology that was flawed "from the off" are so fitting and epitomise the disregard to certain groups of the Brit population that have been "hammered" by these bastards for years with no recourse to "put things right".

US health giant UnitedHealth handed £7million NHS contract to identify most “expensive” patients running 9 month programme to train managers to rank people according to risk of illness to potentially further ration care. But hey nothing to see here folks! https://www.mirror.co.uk/news/politics/h...p-21556330

I remember reading on here that the NHS would never be privatised because the plebs would never stand for it at the ballot box. The point being they won't ever xxxx know about it, it will happen when they aren't looking.

"ranking of people according to risk of illness" What does that sound like I wonder ?

I have no problem with an outside company performing training for NHS staff, but the subject matter is somewhat worrying unless tis is something that has always been done anyway.

And the UK still "hurtling" towards that record death rate in Europe with the Tory govt failure in care sector provision fully exposed and still not scrutinised and criticised enough by the majority of the press corp and media - their historical failure (add the NHS cuts to that failure!!), an absolute disgrace, has cost thousands of lives and it has not finished yet - MORE TO COME!!

Two points from me on here.
1. Austerity only benefits the well-off, the people who can afford it. Certainly not the vast majority of the population. And certainly not the NHS and others dependent on Government finance.
2. There are so many figures being issued for the number of deaths from a variety of sources, that I honestly think we are in danger of being blinded by statistics. Only one figure matters, and that is the total confirmed by the National Register of Scotland and the equivalent offices in the rest of the UK. That total gives far more detailed information than just a daily reported number.

Right at the start I said that I would not be surprised if the total deaths reached 100k. That is a long way off, but there is a long way still to go.

Just a word about the media following the birth this morning.
When Ed Miliband became Labour leader, the media went ape shit because he'd had two children out of wedlock. It was such an intensely focused media campaign that he ended up getting married against his own beliefs.
Compare that to the back slapping congratulations Boris is receiving from these sycophantic f***wits today.

Ed got a pretty rough deal from the press. The not so subtle/subtle anti-semitism about the bacon sandwich, the horrific attack on his war hero father for being a marxist, the bizarre '2 kitchens' smear.

Boris on the other hand gets an incredible easy ride from the press.

Yep!!! There are so many other historical examples of the politics of "double standards" and Tory ownership of most of the press/media - been scrutinised and debated on other OPs and rightly so in a so called democratic country that many people in England still hypocritically keep preaching about - UTTER BULLSHIT!!! And we previously debated on another OP how the Labour Party have won so few General Elections!! Waken up and "smell the coffee" eh!!

Also that recent bbc Panorama programme re the Brit govt's handling of the coronavirus crisis brought home some shocking revelations and even more of a shock was that one of the few people who was taking the govt "to task" over it in the MSM was a certain Piers Morgan!
The true, morally corrupt nature of the establishment in England has now surely been "laid bare" for all to see. Only the Brit establishment could knowingly and quite happily not ensure the correct amount of PPE was held in reserve, counting btw one glove as a single piece of PPE. They also quite happily downgraded the severity of COVID-19, an action one can only assume that took place so that they could justify the pitifully low stockpile of held PPE.
Then an insult above any other so far in this crisis - THE ESTABLISHMENT CALLS FOR A NATIONAL SILENCE IN MEMORY OF THOSE IN THE NHS AND THOSE IN HEALTH CARE WHO HAVE LOST THEIR LIVES. This is truly an establishment that cares not for the lives of the plebs. One can only hope that every single one of those clowns in govt is held to account when this pandemic is finally over - eg they could've issued guidance and risk assessments on vulnerable groups of staff and patients about 6 weeks ago and possibly a good number of lives would've been saved. They didn't act!!!!!!
I also note that the Brit govt has written into the emergency legislation that "IT CANNOT BE HELD TO ACCOUNT OVER MISHANDLING OF THE COVID-19 CRISIS"? I would just point out that every dictatorship has had similar laws in place and every one of them has been held to account one way or another!!
Meanwhile up here in Scotland, the establishment quislings are attempting to "lay a smokescreen" over their masters' disastrous handling of this crisis and using the "cabal press" to divert the public gaze from them. They are being pushed back from all directions and the least committed to their cause are deserting them, leaving only a sad concentration of imperial loathing for a just and independent Scotland with a current Scottish govt that has gained a UK-wide reputation for heading in the direction of international best practise slightly faster, with better explanation and more transparency than the sluggish British govt.
