If I recall correctly, last time Stokes played a blinder in an ODI he then went and sparked someone out, got put on trial and suspended for six months. Haven't checked the morning papers; fingers crossed he spent the night in with a cup of cocoa and a Peppa Pig DVD?

Pakistan post their second-lowest World Cup total ever, just 31 higher than against England in 1992. Chris Gayle becomes the biggest six-hitter in World Cup history, and has knocked off fifty-odd of the 282 he needs to become the West Indies highest World Cup run-scorer.
Doesn't get any easier for Pakistan either, with England up next. Windies may just fancy themselves as dark horses in this tournament.

Easy win for NZ today against Sri Lanka, who really have gone to pot now.
And the Aussies appear to be cruising against the Afghans.

Two David vs Goliath fixtures in the context of the tournament, but Afghanistan gave a better account of themselves than either Sri Lanka or Pakistan, which will stand them in good stead going forward.
It'll be intriguing to see whether South Africa vs Bangladesh plays out the same way tomorrow, or if the Tigers can take advantage of a weak Proteas side and give us a proper close game.

Well, well, well. Bangladesh have beaten South Africa. Is this the reshaping of a new world order?

Great showing from the Tigers, with their highest ODI total ever. South Africa bang average in all three departments; fielding especially bad. They've been hit hard by Amla's concussion these last two games, but even with him back, it's going to be an uphill slog. Past the top three, Duminy's the only one you'd trust to score big in the middle order, and with confidence this low it's unlikely to be enough.
