Nicola Sturgeon finally begins the process of separation!
'other regions of the UK'

That's the problem in a nutshell. Scotland has never been a region of the UK.

It's fairly insulting actually

Give over, you are being pedantic for pedantics sake!!!! Any part of a whole entity can be referred to as multiple things, such as "parts" as I just called them, regions is relevant, countries is relevant in some cases, pieces would even work, areas, sectors, districts, neighborhoods can all be used to describe part of something bigger.

Sorry SCO!! You "pulled" that same description quite a while ago and were suitably enlightened. It is a unionist line, pure n simple, and I can perceive the logic from a backer of the United Kingdom, which you have previously professed in another thread. Come up here to Scotland and try that same line and you'll discover that Scotland is strongly regarded as a sovereign country within the UK. Indeed I'd go further and say you'd likely "get a sair face" from certain Scots who would not tolerate that kinda nonsense and your word "pedantic" could well be uttered through broken teeth as you realised too late that you "crossed a red line" and just failed a reality check!! A lesser punishment would be a brusque correction in no uncertain terms and move on!! I'd just call it "treading dangerous ground" huhhhh!!

Here is what I said:

"Whenever you have a big slice of both the population and money residing in one region that will always be the case but I don't see it as only an anti-Scottish thing, it applies to other regions of the UK as well."

I call bullshit on your response, its being pedantic. Please how would I rephrase that sentence to include a word that does not offend you?? I am not referring to Scotland as anything, I am referring to the existence of other parts/regions/sections etc etc etc of the UK that suffer from the power and money residing in the SouthEast!! The word "other" tells you I am not referring to Scotland, but how would I label other parts of the UK??

Oh well! Fair enough SCO! Lets not play on words eh! I can perceive you've changed your previous view that Scotland is a region of the UK but it is indeed a sovereign country whose population, if it voted unanimously to break away from the Union, they would not need any permission from parliament to do it - it would be a sovereign right to self-determination, unlike a region although on a separate topic I will say that I empathise with the plight of the Catalan people in their quest to break from Spain as an independent region/country but Catalonia was in fact historically an old independent kingdom (Kingdom of Aragon and County of Barcelona) that was invaded and taken over by Spain!! The language, culture and "roots" are noticeably different in Catalonia.

Reading about our Scot Sec of State, David Mundell's role in not joining his rebel cabinet ministers in rejecting a no deal Brexit and confirming some backing of Scottish interests, he must be one of the most hated Tories in Scotland at the moment - ahhh Scruffy Fluffy Mundell, Mrs. “Three coats” Feartie May’s wee tea boy (Junior Grade) confirms, yet again, should anyone have missed his previous attempts to ingratiate himself with his boss that he does indeed desperately want a cloak of ermine!
This absolute plonker of a bad excuse of a politician will do ANYTHING, say ANYTHING just to keep his grubby little paws on the extra cash he gets as the Secretary of State for Westminster.

So Nicola looking towards 2021 (or before) as Scot referendum year! I think this will draw a mixed opinion from people within the independence movement! Some will raise the words "kicked into the long grass". Others will opine that it is a pragmatic, cautious stance that is awaiting a significant moment to "kick start" a serious campaign for self determination or the Scottish populace could poss play a key role en masse to vote for an SNP govt and "blow away" every Unionist party up here - strong grounds for a mandate on Scot indy!! It ultimately generates constructive debate among all backers of Scot Indy and no coincidence that the SNP Conference takes place at the weekend.

Unfortunately if England is going down the road of Brexit and Boris xxxx Johnson as PM then we have to have the option to say 'xxxx that'.

Watching this shitshow unfold in Westminster and the English go batshit crazy over the nonsense that it is Brexit, the continuing rise of the far right down there......why anyone wouldn't vote for self determination now is anyones guess? I think its coming, the unionist parties are finished in Scotland - the polls are showing that clearly.

Still requires approval from Westminster for another referendum before anything can happen.

A recent Survation survey brokered by Scotland in Union turned out to be the biggest botch up by any Unionist group because it revealed, just before the SNP Conference in Edinburgh, that the SNP would currently gain 51 seats in any upcoming General Election with Tories reduced to 3 seats and Scot Labour down to 1 seat - almost a "total wipe out" of all Unionist parties and a clear mandate for Scottish Independence!!! Anybody surprised??? Certainly not up here in Scotland!! Political change is coming!!
