European Union Referendum - In or Out??
The British aircraft, shipbuilding, railway and motor vehicle industries were under no pressure to modernise their plants, upskill their managers and workers or reform when they could rely on captive domestic and imperial markets. Complacency ruled, and when those markets ended the obvious happened. It isn't coming back.

So why does it matter if these companies picking up the slack are foreign? I don't get why we have to throw the baby out with the bathwater.

It is a form of xenophobia Jim! Refer to the antics of many of the protagonists of Brexit such as that disguised xenophobe/racist named Nigel Farage who will still pick and spend his nice tidy EU pension regardless of the negative implications on this country!! Most of them are hypocrites like Farage but they "talk a good game" until closely scrutinised and challenged!

Not all leave voters are racist and xenophobic....but I bet most racists and xenophobes voted leave.

Absolutely! Also the tone of the language used by a lotta these people, incl many of these extreme MPs in Westminster, was definitely a factor in the political murder of Jo Cox! Many of these ##### have tried to defuse this criticism with various cheap, rhetorical forms of defence but they "stoked up" racial hatred, xenophobia and misogyny and many of them noticeably "toned it down" because they were a legitimate public target after that disgraceful act!!! As for the role of the RW press?? My scathing criticism of them and their pay masters is unprintable!! So much for the Leversen Inquiry

Cadbury's moved to Poland in 2011, Ford Transit moved to Turkey in 2013, Peugeot closed it's Ryton plant in 2006 and moved to Slovakia, Texas instruments moved to Germany, ICI moved to Holland. Jaguar/Land Rover announced they were building a new plant in Slovakia in 2015 and it opened in October 2018. A lot of it is done by the EU giving companies grants or bank loans to move production to Europe

Peugeot, texas instruments, Ford......Makes you proud to be British eh ?

Anyway respective UK Govs pulled in over 1000 Japanese firms and car companies to invest here, 100% down to the EU marketplace. An area like Sunderland (mines and shipyards devastated) really benefitted from those jobs and the 30k additional jobs in the supply chain. The FTA between Japan and the Eu is a total gamechanger.

And What about the European companies that have moved here with help from the EU like Schneider or airbus ?

That is a lie, a falsification,  and I've attached a true clarification of the facts and not a false one presented by many a Brexit backer with an agenda to try and bolster their reasoning for leaving the EU! Read below and be enlightened!

Is it wrong to be proud to be British? Or is it racist in your eyes? I think Scottish Nationalism is racist and xenophobic because if you scratch slightly just below the surface it's hatred of the English and is Anti-British. Scottish Nationalism is no different to other types of Nationalism.

Heyyyyyy!!! That is absolute bullshit coming from someone who does not even live in Scotland and sample the true daily culture of Scots who live here and see it as it really is!! Shut it!!! Again, an argument without substance (old shit, read it before from the usual suspects!) and an insinuation, another false one, that is absolutey unqualified crap!! Sure, there are some extreme factions that are present up here but they are miniscule in the overall scheme of things in a Scottish culture that is multicultural and pluralist with strong roots that have been embedded here for a long, long time. My wife is English from Kent and she'd scoff at such an inaccurate and stupid, unqualified suggestion!!! We live here and we are qualified 100% to know the FACTS re our own country!! What utter garbage!! And BTW the Scottish Nationalism title should be amended to civic nationalism because that is what it is!!! If you lived up here, you'd realise that fact and why so many people vote for the SNP!!!!!

The SNP is leading you up the garden path you can't see it! If Scotland became independent how would you close the £13bn deficit, increase taxes? reduce public spending? or both? How would you afford the £55 million a day to be a member of the EU if you joined? It would cost you £450 million to set up departments for an independent Scotland and that is just over 5 years.
