European Union Referendum - In or Out??
(30-01-2019, 00:18)ritchiebaby Wrote: After all the votes tonight, we're not really any further forward. Yes, MPs have voted to avoid a No Deal, but we've always wanted to avoid a No Deal, so there's no progress there. The default position is still No Deal on 29 March, unless a Deal is agreed with the EU.

MPs have also voted to send Mrs May back to the table to re-negotiate a Deal that the EU say they won't re-negotiate. So, after 22 months of hard bargaining, we're now scrambling about, against the clock, to make some progress. Never trust politicians, especially those in a position of power.

All that was clarified yesterday was that a useless, cowardly, craven WM majority for a Brexit outcome that can never happen was secured. In fact they were told that it wasn't possible before the vote.

Spot on and there is no negotiation forthcoming, May knows that fact!! I think the UK govt is an embarrassment globally, no doubt! Also EU ensuring Ireland is being protected and has May got any credibility left??? Nooooo!!!

EU to Ireland "we've got your back"

WM to Scotland "shut the xxxx up"

Aye! Hence my previous reference to this equal partnership (?) that has been contemptuously touted by these shameless bastards since 2015 when that non devomax settlement was foisted on the Scottish govt. The EU's protection of Ireland, an EU partner, is exactly what it should be, unlike the disregard of these f###### Tories who, lets remember - did not want to consult anyone re Brexit and that includes Corbyn. Now Corbyn is finally meeting the PM but some of the shit coming from them re him not talking is jaw-dropping!!! They were the non-consulting instigators from day 1!!!!

The way the tories treated him in the house and the way may spoke to him yesterday..... corbyn should just tell her to get on with it.

From his perspective he wouldn't be losing anything because both their "plans" are preposterous. Its only may's that will be examined.

Yep! I concur with that view! This is a huge political game that is being played while EU observers are watching this charade in awe!! Now it is being suggested that Ireland be put in a direct position to give approval to May's "bail out" on the back stop!!!??? Please tell her to GTF AGAIN!!! The "UK cherry picking" criticism is a valid one as well!! The f###### arrogance attached to it is astounding!! You don't leave and expect a better deal!!!!

May blames Corbyn of increasing the risk of no deal. After going back on the deal she pronounced repeatedly, in very strong terms, as the best deal, the ONLY deal.

Moving to Scottish Labour and some of the bizarre contradictory comments against Scot interests from their reps and the consequent drop in their membership up here, one must highlight why that is:-
2014 - Scots accepted the promises of equal partnership, sanctity of Holyrood, DevoMax and EU membership
2015,16,17 - Scots chose the SNP to represent their views
2015,16,17 - Scots rejected Labour who had been past favourites
2016 - Scots chose to stay in the EU
In a survey last year Scots from all political denominations (except toerags!!) UNANIMOUSLY opined that if N Ireland was given an EU backstop then the same applies to a sovereign country called Scotland - that was the favourite choice of four options!!! Talk aboot being SHAT ON FROM A GREAT HEIGHT BY THESE UNIONIST SHIT HEIDS!!

Now the EU, Barnier et al, reject all calls to reopen any further Brexit negotiations!!!
Oh well!!! That was predictable and I bet Mrs Windrush knew that as well!! Ian Blackford's words describing this government's inaction, "Scotland has been scunnered by this incompetent govt"! A classic criticism as May again not answering his question and doing her usual diversionary unionist move to focus on the SNP and it's threat to "break up the union"!! Yawn yawn!!

Now this incompetent UK govt may extend Article 50 after all because it suddenly becomes clear they are not ready for Brexit!! Ehhhhhhh!!!!! The hypocrisy and deceit attached to this after all their previous "talk" is breathtaking. IMO we need another referendum and finally let common sense and the people prevail!!
